Unsere Toilette war undicht, damit der Badezimmer boden immer feucht, das Holz vom Bettrahmen war porös und so splittrig, dass man sich daran verletzen konnte. Staubwischen und Spinnennetze entfernen wurde lange nicht gemacht. Die Stühle auf der Terrasse waren sehr unbequem. Insgesamt war Zimmer 20 auf dem Felsen in keinem guten Zustand, über die anderen zimmer kann ich nichts sagen, es ist aber schwer vorstellbar, dass man nur ein Zimmer verkommen lässt und die anderen pflegt. Der Strand hat grundsätzlich sehr starke Wellen und zumindest auf den Felsen ist es sehr laut. Die Wellen brechen kurz vor dem Strand, Wellen surfen geht also nicht und auch zum Baden ist es eher unpraktisch. der Strand ist klein und hat nur ein Restaurant. Der Weg zum Resort eher schwierig. Von Tongsala mind. eine halbe Stunde mit dem Auto. Sehr abgelegen und kein guter Badestrand, grobkörniger Sand. Würde nicht wieder dort einchecken.

If you're looking to escape from it all, this is the place. Nestled under a national park, Than Sadet is perfect for swimming and Mai Pen Rai has a great restaurant on the beach and a wide variety of bungalows to choose from. Enjoy!

I loved the remote location and the staff were lovely. This is no luxury spot by any means (no hot water or ac) but this is the spot if you want to get away from it all. Glamping at its finest!

Einzigartig ist die Lage ganz direkt am Meer, somit auch ziemlich laut. Und in der Bucht ist es nicht so voll wie an anderen Stellen. Das Mobiliar ist Marke Eigenbau: rustikal, haltbar. Die Kehrseite: manchmal nicht mehr so funktional. Insgesamt eine tolle Unterkunft an einem besonderen Ort.

Sleep to waves crashing upon the rocks

Great for those that thrill in nature. Interesting, unique, basic, comfy, spacey beach bungalows in a gorgeous spot. Get some walking done and enjoy the waterfalls. Good thai food menu at restaurant. Would definately go again! Do take mossie repellent though!

Die Unterkunft ist vom Pier aus in einer 25 minütigen Taxi Fahrt über sehr steile Straßen zu erreichen, daher ist die Bucht sehr abgelegen und es gibt lediglich 2 Restaurants in der Anlage, was aber ausreichend ist. Eines direkt am Strand (coole Musik) und das andere höher gelegen mit atemberaubenden Blick aufs Meer! Der Strand ist traumhaft schön und man fühlt sich wie Robinson.... Die Zimmer genügen etwas unterschiedlich hohen Standards, die neueren mit betonierten Fundament, die älteren nur aus Holz, es gibt Ventilatoren und Moskitonetze. Zum Teil sind die Unterkünfte in die Felsen bzw an den Hang gebaut und über abenteuerliche Wege zu erreichen. Insgesamt ein wunderschöner Platz, den wir nicht vergessen werden.

The perfect getaway!

A perfectly secluded bungalow on the rocks just above the ocean! You just get the basics here with no Wifi in the bungalow but an absolutely amazing nature view instead! Mai Pen Rai offers amazing food and especially the Thai food dishes and fried fish dishes are absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is totally laid back, boheme-like and chill as are the staff. Just what I needed! It's also worth mentioning that Mai Pen Rai are very focused on minimising plastic use and only have water in glass bottles, as well as a refill option! The beautiful beach is guarded by a healthy, well-nourished and friendly pack of dogs and a super cute pet pig. All in all it was a true healing experience to be here and I booked another week in one of the beach bungalows on arrival. Thanks a lot, Mai Pen Rai -- I'll be back!

I liked the unique location. I was hesitant when purchasing these bungalows for such a cheap price, that they wouldn't deliver on location. But they did. It truly was a bungalow on the rocks - on the rocks of the beach! Fantastic. I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Thank you so much Mai Pen Rai Bungalows. I think they are under rated and should sit at 4 stars.

Fantastisk naturoplevelse, havet var bogstavelig talt lige ude foran døren. Bungalows trænger til en opgradering/renovering, specielt badeværelset trænger. Flinkt personale i restauranten. Forskellige retter at vælge imellem, thai food og børneretter til fornuftige priser. Skal besøges for naturoplevelsen ved stranden (og ikke værelset).

Piękna plaża, ośrodek zostawia mieszane odczucia.

Po pobycie mam mieszane odczucia. Z jednej strony piękna plaża, ale stan techniczny domku i jego wyposażenia pozostawia trochę do życzenia. Jedzenie w lokalnej restauracji smaczne ale ceny zdecydowanie za wysokie w porównaniu do okolicznych realiów. Na szczęście można pożyczyć skuter i być niezależnym, choć trzeba pamiętać że ośrodek leży naprawdę na uboczu i koszt dojazdu taxi jest wysoki.

If you like glamping you’ll love it here

Great location if you want to be away from it all and just chill and relax. We were in a family hut in the rocks. Tricky if you have very small children but fine for us. It’s basic but as I mentioned in the title if you like glamping you’ll love this place. The staff were lovely. Very welcoming and really appreciated it when we tried to speak a tiny bit of Thai. If we stayed longer we would think about renting a jeep to explore more of the island. We would definitely go back.

Unsere Hütte, Nr. 51, ist in die Jahre gekommen. Fenster gehen nicht mehr auf, ein bis zwei Regalbretter waren schon gewesen und der blinde Spiegel im Bad könnte mal erneuert werden. Personal sehr freundlich, Strand wundervoll. Zum Entspannen optimal.

Schönes Resort für Naturliebhaber

Das Mai Pen Rai liegt an einem traumhaften Strand fernab des Touristentrubels von Koh Phangan. Wer Ruhe sucht und abschalten möchte, der ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Der von uns gebuchte Bungalow am Strand war einfach eingerichtet, aber sehr schön gestaltet und verfügte über eine große Terrasse. Das Restaurant des Resorts hat leider nicht überzeugt. An den thailändischen Standards gemessen war der Service und das Essen eher mittelmäßig, wobei zumindest das Frühstücksangebot positiv zu bewerten ist. Als Alternative gibt es zum Glück noch die Restaurants der anderen beiden Resorts vor Ort, sodaß für Abwechslung bei den Mahlzeiten gesorgt ist.

Loved the place, quite idyllic. However, very far from anything. You must rent a scooter or car BEFORE coming here (because the hotel "surpisingly" does not have any available ones). Hotel's restaurant has a good price for value. Overal service was OK but could be (much) kinder...

Idéal pour du repos !

Très bel endroit, idyllique par beau temps, sinon vous vous retrouverez un peu isolé et trésors dépendant des taxis hors de prix sur l'île ! Les bungalows sont très jolis, propres, Avec terrasse et hamac très agréables ! Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de wifi.
