"The apex is a lovely hotel situation by the Quayside. The rooms are very clean and well furnished. The staff are experienced and helpful. What lets the stay down was the lack of forward planning. For example, the hotel ran out of clean towels in the spa area, and the spa was over crowded. Similarly, there was an event on and queues began at the bar and restaurant. The tables were not being cleared during the event because there were not enough staff planned for the night."

"Good hotel, might look dated in some aspects in the common area . The room I slept in seems to have been modernized but the tv system is cruelly small considering the distance from the beds. A better isolation from the pool section might be desired . Rooms 1,-5 are passing close to the pool section which leave a smell of chlorine when passing through much of the day."

"The hotel is a wonderful old building that has been lovingly maintained. Our room was fine, everything was clean, tidy and worked and we got what we paid for. The restaurant was excellent. It had grandeur, it was flooded with light, offered views over the Tay, drink and food options were very good and reasonably priced. While there was no car park, one across the road offered reasonable rates and was convenient. The Discovery and V&A are a 5 min walk and are excellent. Why not a 5* rating? Like...
