"We booked this ryokan to get an authentic high-class Japanese experience and that's exactly what we got. We slept on tatami mats on the floor in a large room; we had our own private dining room where a huge variety of gourmet quality food was served for dinner; we used a very clean large onsen in the hotel which had both indoor and outdoor pools; we could help ourselves to water, tea and coffee any time we wanted. The staff were extremely helpful, including providing a shuttle service into town any time we needed it. What we missed was a comfortable chair or sofa to relax in and we didn't find a single English-language channel on the TV (a minor issue)."

"We chose this property because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and if anything, Kojinmari exceeded expectations. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back again without hesitation. The room was a work of art--beautiful and immaculately clean, and we really enjoyed the half outdoor shower and private bath. The location was also ideal. We had great view from our balcony and could easily walk to everything in Kinosaki. Perhaps most memorable were the hosts. They prepared incredible food for us (honestly some of the best we had anywhere during our two-week Japan trip) and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. They also provided everything we needed to visit the onsens in town and always greeted us with a smile. Book this property - you won't regret it!"

The staff are also extremely nice and the old lady who led me to my room and served me tea was very kind and caring. "A good spot to stay in Kinosaki. The room itself was pretty outdated with an old tv - I really enjoy when hotel TV's have casting capabilities which this one did not. But the service and meals service was excellent, it's a self-serve buffet style dining which is great if you're a slightly fussy eater like myself. A little disappointed that the room view was blocked by netting for maintenance, which Inwas advised prior to arrival but after booking. I think some form of discount would have been nice for the inconvenience considering I had booked a river view room."
