Would be 5 star if a little more love was given to the property.
Front door sticks hard to open and close.
Windows in lounge misty due to leaking double glazing.
Message left saying fridge door doesn't close properly when all it needs is mending.
Garden like a forest.
Work surface around sink sticky.
A shame because it could and should be lovely

Great tiny cottage, very well equipped.
Great tiny cottage, very well equipped. Literally it had everything we needed. There was no salt, sugar, oil etc but we had this all with us.
Lovely new kitchen and comfortable bed.
The parking is tight, but we managed fine.
The only thing is that it wasn't super clear - some spider webs on the seeling, some dead flies on the windowsill, some dirt to the plates and cups that were on display too.

A nice, quaint property in a lovely location.
A nice, quaint property in a lovely location. Simply furnished but it is a small terraced cottage so that was fine. Only real complaint was no access to rear of property, so if you needed to clean walking gear such as muddy boots it meant carrying water through cottage to clean at front. Fortunately weather was good so we could appreciate the views from front garden.

Quiet, compact but great 280-yr old cottage -especially for two.
Quiet, compact but great 280-yr old cottage -especially for two. Owners have made the most of the space available. Great multi-fuel stove, cooker and dishwasher. Clear instructions for adjusting heating. Towels, hairdryer, bin bags, cleaning products etc available. Bathroom looked recently fitted out- no issue with shower despite low water pressure. Good food pub in village. Food and drinks available in fab village hall.

This cottage had everything for the type of holiday that we enjoy.
This cottage had everything for the type of holiday that we enjoy. We were a bit disappointed that the village of Threlkekd didn't have a small shop for provisions and also ,not getting the use of a back garden. The cottage was ideally situated for walking

Lovely cottage, just missing out on top marks because of a maintenance issue which the owner spoke to us about. It'll be even better when the railway path reopens to Keswick

The location is stunning but the weather could have been better.
The location is stunning but the weather could have been better. A local shop would have been useful and whilst recycling has to be applauded it would be helpful if someone emptied the amenities

Nice cottage, the only problems were the outside PIR light was not working making it dangerous at night negotiating the steps to the front door and the central heating went off at 7.00 pm, not good in November.

Blease Cottage is very happily situated in Threlkeld at the foot of Blencathra.
Blease Cottage is very happily situated in Threlkeld at the foot of Blencathra. It was fully equipped, including even trekking poles. Very comfortable and a great place to explore the Lakes. Local amenities are a bit lacking in terms of shops but there are 2 pubs in the village, and one further away in Scales. The nearest pub, the Horse and Farrier, does standard but good pub food. There is an excellent coffee shop in the village hall at the bottom of the road with great views of Clough Head. If you don't drive (we don't) there is an hourly bus service to Keswick which goes on to Workington via Cockermouth. We got a weekly explorer for £29 which is good value as local buses are pricey (by London standards). The local disused railway line walk to Keswick is now totally closed until December 2020 for maintenance, which is a shame but plenty of local walks. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. We will return

This is the second time we have stayed here.
This is the second time we have stayed here. It is small and very compact. But so are we, so it was perfect. (If you over 5 ft 10, you may struggle with the space.) Very quiet, very easy to get to. Great for easily travelling to Glenridding, Keswick and Grasmere. In fact very easy access to most places from the A66. Lovely coffee shop 50 yards away in the village hall.

Blease cottage was delightful and definitely one of the better cottages we've stayed in.
Blease cottage was delightful and definitely one of the better cottages we've stayed in. Certainly perfect for two. The kitchen was well equipped, the whole cottage was comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was great to find so much information and walk options to add to our options, and we made great use of these.
On an unexpected snow day we made use of the walks close to the village which are well worth doing
We enjoyed dinner at the Farrier while we were there and the cakes at the local coffee shop are very good indeed.

This was our 4th or 5th stay at Blease Cottage.
This was our 4th or 5th stay at Blease Cottage. It is so welcoming, quiet, clean and with lovely views of Blencathra especially from the back bedroom. There are good walks from the cottage without needing to use the car. Keswick is only a short drive away which is useful. If the weather is cloudy with rain we sometimes drive over to Maryport and Allonby on the coast where the sea breezes have often blown the rain away !! It is very refreshing to walk along the beach or the promenade. There is an interesting museum at Maryport.
