Beautiful hotel. Two pools and right on the water. Poolside bar was nice and the hotel employees were very friendly. We were on the second floor in the loft apartment and it was very spacious and clean. The hotel was a little far from the center but we had a car so it wasn't that big of a deal. The roads leading in are all dirt so you need a jeep or truck. They were working on the road to get it ready to pave but I was told this has been going on for at least six months. Otherwise we had a great...

Fantastic hotel and facilities. All the different places (Almond Beach, Jaguar Reef, Colonial Inn) are effectively clustered together as the same resort with the same facilities i.e pool, restaurant, bar. The Dock Bar is especially great, at the end of the pier overlooking the water you can get great cocktails and fresh cerviche. There’s also a pool bar and jacuzzi. The rooms were also great, nice and big, spacious and clean, with Belizean ornaments to make you feel part of the culture. We also...

The hotel is cozy, the restaurant has an amazing view just in front of the ocean. Chef Rob's is super, his cooking delicious and the restaurant has a romantic ambience.
The road conditions are bad so be prepared for dust, pot holes and speed bumps. Luckily there was some construction on the mean road.

Our first time back in Belize in 18 years . Umaya was the perfect place. The views over the lagoon towards the Maya mountains are perfect backdrop after a day at the beach and pool.
The staff were great, very helpful with booking trips etc. The restaurant is excellent and the wood burning Pizzeria provides a great alternative.
We will be back

Love hotel. It had a gorgeous location, great swim up pool bar, nice specious rooms and fantastic service. The problem was that you are a captive audience there with prices to match. They get you in on a decent price for room, but the drinks, food and tours are expensive especially for Belize. Hopkins is too sleepy of a town with nothing going on. It gets busier after Nov, but not much. We went in Oct which was out of season and rainy. All other resorts were closed. Food was also pricey in...
