This will truly be your home away from home vacation! Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood of the sunny West side, you'll be immersed in Kaua'i's ~island time~. Our host, Liz M., was super responsive with clear instructions. The house was just as pictured -- okay, even cuter in person! AC in the bedrooms was super as we were here during a hot spell. Outdoor shower was great!
House is well equipped with thoughtful attention to all the details, everything you need for enjoying Kauai. Been renting homes in Hawaii for over 30 years, best house ever!
We loved the beach cottage location, appointments, the owners quick response to questions, and the private indoor-outdoor feel of the yard and house. We prefer cooking our own meals and staying away from tourist areas - this was just right.

We had an amazing stay at the rental. We had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant. The house was clean and we didn't need anything. The owners kept up up to date on everything.

Great cottage style home
Loved it. Everything you need is in the home. Very comfortable.
Family loved the convenience of walking to grandparents’ home that was just a few houses away and the beach. Neighborhood was safe and friendly. Enjoyed the outdoor shower after a day at the beach. Rental was stocked with equipment for outdoor activities including snorkeling. Would definitely want to stay there again. Winters would be best since weather is cool and no AC is needed.
We came for a baseball tournament in nearby Waimea. The house was perfect for the 4 of us! Plenty of room, beds were SOOOO comfy, and the outdoor shower was awesome. We used that more than the indoor one! The layout of the house is great and the yard is spacious. It’s on the quieter side of the island, which is perfect for relaxation; but still close to everything great. It also has lots of goodies to use at the beach. I can’t say enough how much we loved this place; and to top it off Chad & Liz are amazingly attentive hosts. Mahalo for letting us stay in your home.
We had a terrific stay at this home. Chad and Liz were excellent hosts and were right there with everything we needed. Very short walk to beach to watch the sunrise every morning and the sunset in the evenings. This home is very well stocked for all your needs inside and out. I rated it 4 stars for listing accuracy only because of the 2nd bathroom. I did not realize there was one bathroom in the house and the other bathroom was a toilet and utility sink in the laundry room outside. This made it a little difficult getting everyone ready for a wedding but we made it work. The outdoor shower was great and we used daily after coming home from the beach. We would definitely come back to this home for another stay.

Good price, but hot!!
Had high expectations, cute place, loved the outdoors space and shower! Beach was very close!! However there was no pool as was described and the inside was very hot!! We were only provided one fan that barely worked and exhaust fan that did not help much and was extremely loud. We had to go and buy a few more fans just to be able to go inside the bedrooms. Very cute and good value but an AC or more fans would be helpful! We ended up sleeping outside some nights as it was cooler outside!
Great stay, less traffic, beach less than 5 min walk
Our family of 4 chose to stay here, close to a beach. We knew that Kekaha Beach may not be swimming safe for our 6 and 8 year old, but the beach was stunning as well as the canyon range within view. Our kids did swim on the calmest of days during spring brealm Salt pond beach 20 minutes away and worked out well for the kids and adults. There were beach towels, chairs, coolers, snorkeling gear, beach toys, boogie boards. The home was cozy, stocked with everything needed even some previously left sunscreen and spices/oil in the pantry. The home did get warm midday, but there are fans throughout the home and most of the time was spent out of the house during the day. Sunsets are beautiful at Kekaha. The outside shower is amazing. The laundry facilities was also a real nice amenity. Great stay for a family. Perfect for a less busy area but every where is a drive from here. Waimea is close and a great place to stop for shopping, dining, shave ice at Jojos. The hosts were very receptive to inquiries/texts. Thank you, Liz and Chad!
This was our first time in Kauai - you would need to rent a car for sure. The drive was not too long to get to this location. You never know what to expect but as you pull to the driveway to feel a sense of coming home. The gardens are very well kept - the signs in the driveway are a cute touch. The best part is when you get inside - the coziness of this place is incredible. The quality of furniture / decor/ art - is well placed. The ocean is few mins away - best way to spend your first day relaxing on this ocean as it's not busy - feels very private. The sunsets are magical since you're on the west side. The hikes to Napali / Waimea Canyon are easy to reach since you're on the west side. We did a luau at the Hyatt which was quite nice. Book early if you want to get one in while you stay as it sells out fast! The east coast is definitely more tourist but worth the drive up north and east and visiting falls and small towns. Overall we loved everything about this home and would definitely come back again. If I can mention one or two things to improve would be better shampoo/conditioner and missing body wash as well - the iron needs a update. But again these are small things that didn't set us back in anyway. I forgot to mention the outdoor shower we used daily as well the bbq was nice change to eat outside. The beach gear definitely came in handy for all the beach stays - all in all for a family of 4 with teenagers - we all left feeling relaxed and raved about your lovely home.
Great accommodations. Very clean and all the conveniences. This was our 4th trip to the island, and our most comfortable stay. Beds were clean and comfy, bathrooms clean and nicely decorated, and kitchen has everything you'd need to make meals. The neighborhood was a bit noisy at night (I don't mean the roosters) but location was between our 2 favorite beaches (PMRF and Salt Pond). 5 miles away from Big Save (grocery), and several restaurants (steak house, bbq, pizza, Tiki Tacos). The "beach shack" was also convenient (bikes, boogi/body boards and other beach gear). This was the first time I didn't need to buy and leave boogi boards on the island. Overall, great VRBO.
A very charming home with a neighborhood feel. House had all the required beach gear to borrow and you truly could fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean surf. We’d love to come back to this same home!
Our stay was Amazing! This property was affordable, very roomy, close to Ocean, Great Neighborhood and has a Beautiful tropical yard. The Outside shower is Awesome so you don't track sand in the house from the Beach. Very relaxing and comfortable accommodations, Beds were comfy too. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!
My wife Christina and I stayed here with our sister Leanne and we just LOVED everything about the Kekaha Beach Bungalow!! Thank you for the beautiful energy in the home and the awesome amenities! The neighborhood is so chill and we LOVED the outdoor shower and beach gear! Helped us SO much!! We cooked breakfast and dinner in the kitchen which made us feel like we were home in the best way! The laundry room with extra toilet and sink was money!! So great!!
We walked to the beach and hopped over to Waimea Canyon in the car, so great!! Hopped over to Hanapepe which we LOVED!! Got shaved ice in Waimea and got up the Big Save for groceries.
If you want a very quiet, relaxing, comfortable place to stay away from the more touristy parts of Kauai!!!
The lack of A/C didn’t bother us at all. We opened up all of the windows and a great breeze flowed throughout the house. We had the extra fan in our master bedroom and we slept like babies. So comfy and cozy!
Thanks for everything, Jeff & Danise!! We feel blessed by your place and can’t wait come back to it every year!!

Cozy home, but would not rent again
Pros: Very cozy home. The beds were very comfortable, it had plenty of kitchen dishes and utensils to be able to cook daily meals, nice beach decor, wonderful outside shower with a secluded backyard for privacy. The beach chairs and boogie boards are also a nice touch. Plenty of fans in the home, both ceiling and portable. We enjoyed a local beach park “Salt pond” that was about 15 minutes away.
Cons: Although the home was clean, there was a large live cockroach in the kitchen pantry. (We did not see any other roaches once we killed this one, just made some of the visit a little “uneasy”) The area of the home was not what we had expected. It is far away from most everything that we wanted to see (besides Waimea canyon), and we had to drive about an hour away if we wanted to visit most snorkeling beaches. Our last day there, we wanted to enjoy a relaxing, slow day at home to get ready for our long overnight flight. Also wanted to take one last outside shower. The landscapers showed up and were at the property for about 4 hours mowing, weed eating etc, messing up both plans of the relaxation and outside shower. (The owners should take their renters into consideration before scheduling loud landscapers to visit the property.) No AC. The description in the listing mentioned there was a carport that we could park in, but there was a large truck parked underneath it the entire time resulting us in parking in the hot sun all week.
This is a home I would love to live in! Well furnished and supplied from the kitchen to the bathrooms to the beds, everything was functional, comfortable, and tasteful. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cookall our meals here. We especially appreciated the beach supplies from towels to folding chairs to umbrellas and boogie boards. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it!
That’s why a gave an excellent review. Nothing has changed in all the years when I came back. Always had a great time. And if there was a problem the owner immediately attended to it. Maybe it would be nice to have some reall glasses and not just plastic cups
