Fantastic place to stay near an amazing beach for swimming and snorkelling. The view from the villa was beautiful. The staff were all lovely. The villas and pools will need some maintenance in the near future as there is some wear and tear, but this did not detract from our stay.

The property location was beautiful. The lack of available facility amenities such as sauna, treadmill and bikes was disappointing for a 5 star resort. The dining facilities were well below the standard expected from a 5 star resort. The manager appeared quite arrogant and unperturbed that our Villa was not available to us until after 4pm although check in was 2pm. Additional to this on our dining experience there were a number of things from the menu that were not available on 3 separate occasions that we had breakfast.

It’s a pleasant hotel, very big space, good food and good facilities. Very quiet, perfect for families. The only downside is too many bugs, especially the centipedes. There are millions of them every morning everywhere. Very scary. As the toilet and shower is open outdoors, they get in very easily. We found few in our bed.

We stayed at The Griya for our honeymoon and had an incredible experience. We were welcomed with a drinks, a bathtub full of petals, and a heart shaped cake to celebrate our honeymoon. The view from our suite was absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast was plated and served versus a buffet and it was delicious. We ate at the hotel restaurant 2 nights during our stay and really enjoyed the food there. We would especially recommend the Mount Agung dome pizza! We booked a room with a private pool and didn’t regret it at all!! The room was jaw-dropping. We felt like royalty. The service upon check in and check out was incredible, but could be slightly improved during our stay. The staff originally said they could help us book a boat transfer to Gili. When we asked the next day, they gave us a pamphlet and told us to call the number on the brochure. However, there was no cell service from our room which was at the top of a hill (there was WiFi tho!). We tried calling from the hotel phone but the phones are only able to call within the hotel. So we had to call the office again and ask them specifically to book it for us, which felt like they were a little annoyed with.

Amazing villa I’ve ever seen so quiet so beautiful view and very nice service. For relaxing and meditation. I spent the best honeymoon ever. Definitely recommend. It’s away from the airport about 3 hours. They have a transportation facilities.

Very nice overall!
The villa was amazing. Fantastic view from the private pool and the room. Food was delicious, and the staffs were very nice. The only thing is that the bedding and the towels kinda smelled, but it wasn't a big problem.

We loved our stay here - the staff were all super friendly and accommodating. The property is beautiful and the room was our favorite of the four hotels we stayed at in Bali - very spacious. All of the rooms have an amazing view of sunrise over Lombok and the ocean - it was so lovely I actually wanted to wake up early to watch it every morning!

The Griya remains the highest end resort in the amed area. If you want ease and western standards in a hotel setting then this is the place for you. The villas are lovely and although tightly packed in, they are very private and sweet. The property is quite steep so this is not a good place for those not comfortable with lots of stairs. Leaving the griya, an easy walk to the right leads to local warnings (cheap restaurants) and very low-key beach bars. There is little super market for supplies down this way as well and a couple fun little shops. Great beach and snorkeling access from this side. Leaving the griya to the left, you’ll likely want a driver, but there are also fun warnings and bars. Enjoy!

Beautiful room and balcony/pool area. We were kindly upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa with the second bedroom locked. Some small criticisms - bedroom had an odour, i think from the roof but it smelt damp. Bedsheets also smelt damp when changed and were a little stained (blood stains/general marks) which wasn't pleasant. Food in the restaurant was average - on the first day we tried to take them up on their pizza meal offer and after ordering, was told the oven was broken. They wouldnt honour the deal with another main we wanted to order despite it actually being a cheaper dish. This was a bit disappointing. Breakfast to the villa was good.

Beautiful view, beautiful hotel design. But the hotel condition was not very good, especially from some details. For example, the hair dryer had a loose joint - it can’t stay up straight. The welcome fruits had large black spots or already bad. The TV doesn’t function well - many channels had frozen picture. They use sliding doors - good aesthetic design, but it can’t be closed tight. So the sound isolation was bad. The band in the bar was playing until 10:30pm and we couldn’t go to sleep until they finished. I tried to call front desk at 10pm but no one answer.

We spent five nights at the Griya and loved Amed. It is unusual for us to eat in the hotel in the evenings but on this occasion we did and every meal was superb. The staff are very very pleasant. The rooms and the view from our room was great. Amed was a superb place to visit.

Large and luxurious villas in Amed, at a price
The Griya is a collection of villas a 5min car ride from Amed or Lipa beach. They market themselves as a 5* property so the review will be a little more stringent given their prices and expectations. We got a large 2 double bedrooms villa with a huge private pool. The second bedroom was closed and we couldn't use it. The room is very large and has a nice sized bathroom with a large tub. The bed, linen and towel quality were very good. You are given towels for the pool too. The larger villa comes with a living area (kitchen, utensils, dining table, sofa and tv) that can be closed. The pictures on the website are quite in line with what you will get (even roses on the bathtub!) If you are a fan of sunbathing note that the villas are looking the opposite way and you will have some sun in the morning but will be in shade in the early afternoon. However, since this is a 5* hotel they may want to check a few details that may bother the most stringent travellers: the first morning I noticed the bedsheets had not been changed from the previous guests (or were just dirty with stains), the doors on the living area could not be opened showing a lack of maintenance, the breakfast was noting special and the last morning during check out the manager was simply rude or uninterested on asking for any feedback (a strange thing as Balinese are extremely polite and serviceable). There are a few restaurants not far from the hote at night do not forget a flashlight! Wifi was spotty.

Amazing resort. The villas are stunning with your own pool and lounge area. The view over the bay is beautiful. The staff were very polite and friendly The restaurant had a large selection and everything we tried was tasty. The rooftop bar had stunning views and a good happy hour. We would definitely return.

its a great villa but... they didnt change my bedsheet daily even when i told front desk the towel/bedsheets/cloths appear worn out, definitely dont look fresh and new they charge you for the transport from the airport - which is needed as its a 3 hour drive - however, i think it would be a better touch if they increased the room prices and stated the airport transfer is free to give a more high end, luxury experience

We really enjoyed our stay st Griya. The warm greeting from Debbie when we arrived to the wonderful service from all the team. It made our stay there. Our villas was private and the view to the sea was wonderful.breakfast can be served in your villa, but we found the food served in the restaurant excellent. They also had live music several evenings while were there. Nothing was too much trouble. You really need to hire a scooter to get around during the day, then you get to see more of Amed. A charming little seaside area. Griya just need to keep on top of their maintenance schedules, some of the furniture needs repairs/cleaning.

Overall was nice, the hotel even surprised us with a cake for our anniversary, that's very touching. But there were rats droppings on our bedsheets for 2 nights so that's something I think that needs to improve. We definitely can't avoid it being outdoor but we really don't wanna see that indoor. But everything else was fine, especially the view, its spectacular

Great hotel in Amed. Private villas are all beautifully designed and kept very clean. Eating and treatments at the hotel are very expensive compared to others in the area. 2-3 times more expensive and they will add 21% for service and tax to the already high prices. Staff is professional, food is great and all in all very good combination of privacy and the less turisty Amed. Highly recommend. Not for budget travellers.

I've been to many 5stars resorts/villas throughout Bali now and this is by far the best suite I've stayed in. It is absolutely gorgeous, huge and has so many amazing details: outdoor tub/ shower, private infinity pool, stunning views, unlimited free cold/ hot water, so many places to lounge inside and out, and the list of details goes on. And as you leave your room, which you technically never have to, the property is equally as spectacular with an amazing restaurant, pool, rooftop bar and spa. Also the staff were soo friendly! Sadly we had a bunch of rain so we weren't able to enjoy every aspect, and even with this rain, which can damper ones view of a place, I still loved this resort. Only con, and it can be a pro for others is its remoteness.
