"Very enjoyable stay. Staff could not do enough for you and the breakfast was amazing. Took two dogs with us so understandably had to pay extra. Just think the £30 each dog is too much. Don't want the dog ball and treats etc. that were provided. Other than that, highly recommend."

"When first arriving at the bell and bottle we were surprised by how quiet the place was and by the lack of staff. The lady who showed us to the room however, was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and as an added bonus there was a full size fridge and a fan. The bed was quite comfortable although there were only 2 pillows. The next morning we found there to be no hot water so were forced to take cold showers before going for a long day out. Further to this, one of the towels we were supplied ripped down the middle! I messaged the property reporting this and also requesting more pillows but received no reply. The property was completely deserted that morning so no one was available to help. My partner managed to speak to someone via telephone who was very helpful and said that things would get sorted but when we got back late that night there were still no extra pillows or replacement towels. The following day however, we were given extra pillows and towels by the same lady who was very accommodating and helpful, seemingly she was the only person at the property trying to do everything. We stayed at the property for 3 nights and it wasn’t the worst but I will not be returning or recommending. I do feel that the one lady who we did encounter there was trying her best."

"One of the key features of this hotel is room styles we had a decadent room the copper bath in the middle of the room which unfortunately could not hold any water as the bath plug leaked so what ever went in pretty much drained away and then to add to that the water was stone cold as the tap did not work correctly and also you could not shut off the shower unless you had the strength of Hercules, why is none of this checked before the room is given out, a shame as last time i stayed here it was a good experience now the rooms seem tired and for the prices being paid for the room and food and drink they need to do better"

"Plenty of parking space, and plenty of EV chargers, which, as a car owner new to electric, was very important. The room was very basic, but had everything I needed. Having said which, I am used to tea and coffee making facilities in the room, rather than downstairs. Would have been nice, also, if there had been a proper coffee making machine when you got there, rather than just hot water with instant coffee or tea bags. A bonus, however, was discovering a large pond at the rear of the hotel, something I wasn't expecting."
