What a great little place to chillax in Katamon! Mike and his wife are awesome -- kind, warm, and as helpful as can be. The room is simple and perfect -- a super comfortable place to crash after walking the streets of Jerusalem all day. Will absolutely return again!

Wifi wasn’t available during our whole stay and the staff we have encountered are not friendly except for Mike over WhatsApp. He’s not there in person tho. The staff around isn’t welcome at all. The location is pretty bad and far from the city center. And there’s no shower gel available either when we arrived. Though Mike himself is welcoming and tried to help, it was a kinda miserable experience due to lack of basic necessities

Great place to stay in Jerusalem
We all found the hotel to be very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Mike himself was just great and made us feel very welcomed. My wife is already planning a return visit.

It is a very casual place with the feel of a hostel, but the accommodation of a simply hotel. Check-out is simply placing the key on the board. We met Mike. He is super friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend for a stay.

A wonderful stay
I had a really short stay in Jerusalem just for a night and I stumbled upon Mike’s House which was close to where I needed to be. I am so pleased that I did, it was clean, comfortable, really convenient and Mike was the perfect host, there to greet me from the airport with drinks and show me his lovely guest house. I had the family suite which was huge and even though it was just myself travelling this time, it’s lots of room for a family and really comfortable. I would highly recommend Mikes House, I’m sure we will be back.

I primarily loved the exceptional hospitality offered by Mike and his team. The property is clean and has everything you need. There are window blinds on all windows meaning quality sleep. Coffee, tea and drinking water are complimentary 24/7 which is fantastic. There is also 1 bike available which Mike allows the guests to use around Jerusalem. Very good bus connections to the central station and city center. I can very highly recommend this place in Jerusalem!

Was a good match for my needs -- basic, clean and comfortable. Was very glad that had air conditioning and access to fridge. Not in the most central location but that was fine for me.

In Jerusalem, i specifically looked for a place with parking. This site claimed free self parking. I called to check because you know how listings go. They meant free street parking because there is no lot. I wasn't happy. But the guy said he's never had anyone not find parking and, indeed, there were 3-4 spots when i got there, at 11pm. Walking through a gate at the street you cross a small courtyard with chairs all around. Beautiful for relaxing outdoors. Inside was clean and tidy. A coffee maker and fridge with milk. Some cookies. Room was spotless. Great water pressure in the shower. Very quickly the parking annoyance had dissipated and i was very glad to have picked Mike's House as a non-hotel alternative.

Mikes House
Mikes House was in a quiet residential neighbourhood around 30-40min walk to the old town. The family room (2 bedrooms) we were in was comfortable and met our needs and was good value compared to hotels in tourist areas. There are close bus stops where you can catch buses into the central station and the old town, which was quiet easy to navigate. The hosts were welcoming and assisted with information with things to see and do.

Amazing little hotel
Amazing little hotel, VERY CLEAN and neat! Excellent service, located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Would stay there another dozen times if opportunity presented. Just 2.5 miles from city center. Bus close but walking was more fun for meeting and interacting with the Israeli people.

Good Value without compromising comfort
We arrived late in the evening from a month of humanitarian work. Mike greeted us and when I expressed half jokingly that we were ready for a shower, rest and a glass of wine, he even provided us with a glass of wine! The hotel was quiet, family run and accommodating. The shower was wonderful and the bed quite comfortable. We would recommend Mike's house. If you are in Jerusalem to see sites, we found we could easily walk anywhere, but there is plenty of public transportation available if you prefer.

Supposedly a hotel with cramped rooms. The room we received was very small and cramped. A little depressing. Despite an invitation made over a month, the hostess did not know about our arrival. During the evening after 10 PM, she interrupted us a number of times because she forgot to take a payment, because she forgot to add the tax and asked us to pay now (22:30)/ than she interrupted us informing that she found night lamps that we asked for and again knocked on the door and informed us that the receipt would be ready in the morning.The hotel is at the level of perhaps one star. The beds and pillows are uncomfortable.

Amazing Guest House
The staff helped us with everything we needed. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We were 5 minutes from where we needed to be. I will definitely be returning to Mike's house in the future.

Great entry patio garden and roof top city view
Common kitchen and entry garden sitting area along with roof top viewing area create great opportunity for guest interaction. ..we had 5 days of fascinating times with people from a half dozen countries. Staff and owner were of great assistance. .restaurants, bus guidance, activities and language help. Local neighborhood is really amazing..walking or bus to central Jerusalem. .blocks to grocery..close to German Colony...good food...you don't need climbing gear but it is up 60 steps to great roof top views. Staff will make it great for you.

We stayed at Mike’s to participate on the Jerusalem Marathon and we couldn’t have find better place, good value. Very easy to find, there are two bus stations nearby and just asking people is very easy to move around to visit old town and any other place. For food and supermarket is few minutes walk on a nice and safe neighborhood. Anyway the kitchen is available to use and they gave you tea and coffee complementary. We enjoyed our stay and how helpful the staff was.

Absolutely a great place to stay! Mike and the manager were so very kind and helpful. Personal service was beyond all expectations. And above any hotel I have ever stayed at. And I have traveled quite a bit around the world. When you come to Jerusalem, stay at Mike's house. It's not just a place to sleep. It's your home in Israel. Mike's house is gorgeously remodeled. It has an interesting history as being a button factory many years ago. And because my stay was so perfect I thought to leave a button of my own. It won't be my last.
