"Just wrapped up a fantastic 3-night stay with my husband and our dog—this place is a total gem! Spacious, spotless, comfy, and truly pet-welcoming with everything you would need including thoughtful touches for the fur baby. We loved the king bed (so comfy!), and cozy fireplace for our surprisingly chilly August nights. You can tell the owner really cares for this place, and it shows in every detail—from the decor, entertainment options, furnishings and more, to the well-stocked kitchen. Also, the location within Wintergreen Resort is ideal. Heather, our host, was super responsive and a real pleasure to rent from. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better place or host."

"Had the best long weekend at Berry Hill Lake celebrating the end of summer and my 40th birthday. The home is so beautiful and the property had something for everyone to be entertained, relaxed, and fulfilled. We enjoyed fishing at the dock, swimming in and floating on the lake, and cannot say enough about the gorgeous infinity pool, hot tub, and landscaping. The sleeping arrangements were great for our group of 7 couples… boys to the bunk house and girls stayed in the main house! Hoping to go back ASAP!"

"This was a remote and charming cabin that had a lot of the owner's character with its interesting items and decor. (A different but very welcome experience for sure.) The dwelling was very clean and the AC was spot on in 92 degree muggy weather. The grounds were vast and large with lots of places to walk and get lost. Make sure you have a little bit of clearance with your vehicle as a few of the roads leading up to the property have some sharp 160 degree turns. For the time of year (August), the bugs were surprisingly non-existent. We really could sit on the porch and enjoy it without being bit.The owner was very quick to check-in and respond and had the place well furnished. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathrooms were excellent, and the kitchen was a joy to be in.Our dog loved it there. It was quite a sight to see our dog laying on the porch and stare off into the abyss and take in all the smells and sounds without moving at all. During the day, she ran all over the paths and jumped in the water and was in doggy heaven.Food Lion shopping district is about 10 miles away. Perfect to restock everything.This is a great blend of remoteness and connectedness letting you stress about nothing while enjoying all the owner has envisioned for himself and luckily shared with the rest of us."

"Perfect quiet solitude is what we hoped for and received it beyond measure. The bed was the most comfortable sleeping experience I’ve had in years. As someone with severe back issues I always worry when we book a vacation. I didn’t need to worry at all. I haven’t slept this much in years. The icing on the cake was watching the meteor shower during its peak on the night of the 12th. With zero light pollution the night sky didn’t disappoint. It was an easy walk on the trail to the river. We saw an osprey in flight going down the river twice. We had on two occasions twin fawns with their momma visit the front grass area. Bird song all day was the only noise. Our host was so quick with reply’s it was almost instantly. The house/cabin was adorable. It was very clean and had everything we could need. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and were able to completely relax. We had a wonderful time just doing nothing. This exceeded all of our expectations for a much needed vacation from our busy lives. There were plenty of things to do in the area only a quick drive from the property. Whether you wanted to go hiking, kayaking, wine tasting, try craft beer, or hit the distilleries, it all is just a few minutes from the property. Thank you for providing us with the perfect relaxing vacation we so desperately needed. We wouldn’t hesitate to rent the property again."

"House was great for our family vacation. An actual million dollar view. Family had a wonderful week enjoying the surrounding area with hiking, fishing and local distilleries.House is very well appointed and our host Aubrey was excellent with communication before and during our trip. One tip- Definitely suggest bringing as much food supply as possible to save some driving time to store."

"The property was very clean and beautiful. It had some modern touches,yet felt rustic mountain. Plenty of room and comfortable. Beautiful views. Unfortunately it rained our three days,so we were unable to use the hot tub. But the rain on the surrounding trees sounded beautiful and the windows looking out gave a peaceful warm feeling. Gave us valuable family time. Hosts were great at communication."
