"First impressions were not great. The place looks down at the heel. Tiny three person rickety lift broke down for a while causing us to climb the stairs to 3rd floor. Bed was clean and comfortable. Staff were all great. Breakfast was good. Be aware you will be charged £10/day to park your car, this was a surprise but it is mentioned somewhere in the blurb if you read it all. All in all we were not too impressed, but we were there just to get a bed and a breakfast for 3 days, so it was OK."
"The building is long and has multiple levels and no elevator. If one has mobility issues, it would be wise to make a note when booking.
The staff are super helpful and accommodating.
Dinner was nice with fresh meat from an award winning butcher.
They take bookings for the small outdoor hot tub, so keep this in mind if you’re looking forward to the experience."
"Having had quite a difficult journey, the staff at Loch Shiel hotel were utterly superb and went above and beyond for us. Not only were they kind, friendly and so patient but the amenities and room were fantastic. You have not experienced Scottish hospitality until you’ve been to this hotel! Food was delightful and only beaten by their wonderful service. There was a great lively pub down the stairs and the rooms were cosy, clean and so comfy! Couldn’t recommend the Loch Shiel Hotel enough!"
"Wonderful room and washroom - very clean and every comfort was thought of. The hosts are very sweet and run a professional friendly hotel in a beautiful location. The breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay very much."
"Great hostel. Exactly what you want friendly staff, very clean. Lovely guest lounge with huge games selection. Clean showers/toilets, plenty of kitchen space. We only stayed one night but space to store food etc if staying longer."
"Beautiful room - a comfortable place that feels like a home. Attention to detail was throughout. From the carpet to the ceiling was quality, and extremely clean. The sunny living room was so comfortable. This beautiful little harbor town had the friendliest folks. The only regret, I didn’t book a longer stay. Side note - I usually don’t write reviews, but this place was too nice not to share."
Stretch out on the white sands of this idyllic beach embraced by low hills and scenic dunes, where sheep graze in nearby meadows overlooked by a castle.
