Islay House
10/10 Excellent
"What an outstandingly beautiful grand old manor house and grounds. The description of the hotel doesn’t do it justice. There are renos coming to the exterior but overall the room was clean and stocked with everything any guest could need. We stayed in the Margadale which was grandly spacious with a beautiful view of the front lawn and the sea. Deep tub was amazing for a soak. No restaurant on site for dinner but we made use of the bar in the evening. Cozy atmosphere, perfect for intimate conversations or a get to know you with other guests from abroad. The reception staff was so gracious and lovely. Unfortunately we had an early ferry booked and couldn’t take in the breakfast. Other guests assured us it was fantastic. Highly recommended for any trip to Islay. We will be back!"

Beautiful 10 person modern bungalow in Bruichladdich with stunning views

"The bungalow was perfect for our family's stay in Bruichladdich. It was clean and modern and the views across the bay are beautiful. The mini market just a couple of doors down is perfect for coffee and breakfast sandwiches in the morning. Claire was a great host, very responsive to questions and check-in and check-out were very easy."
Beautiful Cottage by the Bay, Isle of Islay

"This cozy cottage in the tranquil village of Portnahaven was the perfect setting for a sisters' getaway week. Splendid scenery, stunning coastal walks, absolute quiet (rarely an engine sound), except for the birds and the seals. Without a car, we managed to get around by bus and hired a driver for one day to explore parts of the island off the bus route. Everyone we met was super friendly. We particularly enjoyed the pub in Portnahaven. Taxis need to be booked in advance. Also recommend stocking up on groceries in Bowmore before arrival as there are no shops in Portnahaven."
