"We had a great stay at Mapache. The private room was spacious and clean. The staff were lovely and helpful. We also loved the daily activities and the small breakfast included was a bonus. Would recommend Mapache to anyone staying on Holbox. I've only just found out the Mapache means racoon though! "

"Descuidado, falta manutenção. Porta do banheiro emperrada, móveis velhos, lençóis velhos. Falta cuidado. Café da manhã com frutas, torrada e ovos ou yogurte bom. A foto parece ser um lugar amplo, claro e limpo mas não é."

"Hotel was beautiful, just the right size. Very cool rooms and pool, DJ's on some nights, beautiful decoration, amazing views with its own beach... great for lounging all day with great drinks and great food. The staff gets to know you by name. Note that the beach is very small (but to us that didn't matter). Staff was awsome! Hotel is hot in the middle of town so noise level was great."
"Perfect hotel to relax! I did slightly prefer the more “jungle” vibe from the sister hotel but it’s all matter of enjoying the moment!
Great breakfast and very kind staff!! When you’re on the beach you do need to wait a while for your drinks. If they put one more waiter depending on the busyness this would really help.
We had the breakfast incl option, the first night we wanted to have the buffet dinner at the hotel but the prices are crazy, especially for small kids who’re not going eat much. We therefore went in town to eat. If the dinner prices was a bit more attractive they’d lure more folks for sure.
The room was great, we were in room 81, sadly on the side road which can get a bit noizy in the early evening when al the quads are passing by, luckly this doesn’t last the whole night.

"We really enjoyed our stay here. It is obvious that this property is loved based on how it is cared for. The staff was amazing, especially Brian, who set up a nice surprise for my wife on her birthday--we didn't request it, he just saw her birthdate on her passport! The views are amazing, and the beach club was peaceful and gorgeous. It was very nice to be close to everything downtown, and while there was some audible sound from bars, etc. it was totally fine for us. For people who want a silent experience, I suggest visiting a different country where music is not such a big part of the culture.
The breakfast and beach club menus were workable, but could use some more vegetarian and vegan dishes, or a willingness to modify things. There does seem to be some discrepancy in cleanliness depending on the room/floor you are on. Our cleaning crew was amazing, but our friend who stayed in a different room type/floor had a much different experience here, unfortunately. "
"The property was adequate for my purposes. The property is older and a little rough around the edges . The floors are concrete and need at least new paint. The structures are built with very thin lumber with some gaps that make the rooms very noisy. I usually rely on the star rating system during booking. I felt like this was very overrated. "
