"We really enjoyed our stay, although we do like a quirky cottage and this is definitley that!Decoration and furniture was lovely and the photos are accurate. It is quite dark inside but with lighting this wasn't an issue for us.There are some crazy sloping ceiling upstairs. The most severe we have come across, which would probably cause issues for some. "Staff were lovely and helpful, as the building has such wonderful high ceilings i felt the cold at the night time so i told reception and bless him within 10 mins he was knocking at my door with a plug in heater for my rroom. The pool was lovely steam room was on point and the jacuzzi was fab. i know they building is old and it is kept beautifully although i really think bathrooms could do with updating and maybe the windows ESPECIALLY for the winter months as i was quite cold and it mild! rooms had new bottled water and milk and teas topped up put in every day new towels also. The only thing that i didnt like was it wasnt able to be my own choice if they come into the room or not, no lock box/safe in room for valuables and i think if there isnt any notice to put on the door to say if you want to have cleaners or privacy i think its somthing that should be considered. Overall i had a lovely few days out the way and some peace. Breakfast a little pricey but room prices were fair. i did leave some belongings in the room and i phoned up they said they were going to get back to me, i know 100% i left few things so hope they get back to me on here now ive messaged."

"The hotel was in a perfect location in the old town. A prominent hotel on the high street dating back to 17th century, lots of history attached to the hotel. The room was comfortable but in need of updating. An enjoyable stay in an historic building lots of atmosphere and character. Only disadvantage was the lack of breakfast although there are plenty of cafes nearby. I would certainly stay there again."

"The staff are really friendly and helpful, going above and beyond - apart from the chef who thinks a steak ordered as ‘medium, blushing inside, no blood’ equates to ‘very rare and bloody’. The lovely waitress offered to send it back but that may have taken another 30+ minutes while my companion ate hers. The room was a bit shabby in places - one outer sash window fully down, leaving the single-glazed secondary unit to cope, the other sash window partially down, with the glass of the secondary unit missing. A coffee stain on wall missed, skirting boards and corners not cleaned, a black mark on bedding and a stain on a hand towel. The hotel generally (apart from some bedrooms) oozes history and character, but the reception and waiting staff make this hotel."

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful chalet. The property was clean, comfortable, spacious, and very well maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was excellent, with lovely surroundings and easy access to nearby attractions. It was out of town, but close enough to easily visit the main attractions, while being far enough away to enjoy a peaceful and quiet stay. The chalet had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into making guests feel comfortable. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and responsive throughout our stay. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend this chalet to anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful place to stay. We would definitely love to come back!"
