"The house was fantastic, lots of space and a great layout. The owner was responsive about questions with the grill and parking, great interaction. The driveway is very steep and so scary, none of our guest would parking in it. The ice maker in the basement is extremely loud, we thought there might be something wrong with it, so we turned it off and emptied the bin, just to be safe. The rooms were very nice, with plenty of room for everyone. The bathrooms were very clean and nice. The water pressure is not great but everything worked as expected. The ping pong table, pool table, and hot tub were a big hit. We could not get the outside TVs working, probably just a battery issue. However, the deck and views were really relaxing.Overall, a great experience."

"We really appreciated our host - she was super helpful, always connected, nice and professional. We faced some issues, caused by the weather and beyond anybody's control, but the host just saved our trip. Because of her we had wonderful weekend, relaxing and quiet. We would love to come back again. "

"First off, I live here locally and I didn’t want to stay here but with the poor weather and my work requiring me to come in I decided to stay where I thought I could get out easily. Let’s start with I made the reservation online and didn’t see an area to ask for a handicap accessible room because I know they have a few rooms upstairs. When my husband went to go check in he asked if there was a handicap room accessible and he was immediately cut off and told we should have selected that online. Instead of just saying our room was already on a ground level. Now let’s get to the room. Because it was going to be down to 16 degrees when we got off he turned on the heat and then went to work so the room would be warm when we returned. We got back to the room at around 10 pm when we got off work and heard a loud noise coming from our room and it was the heater. We walk in and it was colder inside than outside. We tried to mess with it for awhile and still nothing. We tried calling the hotel and there was no answer. Luckily we brought our own blankets because there was none on the bed just 2 flat sheets on each bed and something that looked like a table cloth on the end. Not only that but as someone who came from a big city and has seen some ghetto places this is the most ghetto motel I’ve ever seen. There was no smoke detector. Only one plug that had the lamp plugged into it so we had to chose lights or charging our phones. There was a plug in the bathroom but overnight it literally"

"The host is amazing with the communication. My family had a great time with all the amenities during our stay. Finally, a rental that has enough places for everyone to sit comfortably in the living room. The place was as clean as expected for being in the mountains on a lake in the winter. Beds are comfortable. The only complaint I would have would be the taste and smell of the hard water but that is uncontrollable. We were happy for the filtered water at the kitchen sink! Hope to stay again! Thank you!"

"We had a great stay in this home for Thanksgiving. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out, but also plenty of gathering places. We especially loved hanging out on the dock and soaking in some warm weather, and the theater room was a hit, as well. "

"This is a wonderful house for a group of 8-10! We LOVED the sunrise views over the lake every morning. And there were plenty of games and puzzles provided for us to cozy up to by the fireplace. We also had great views from upstairs and the pool room downstairs.The refrigerator upstairs holds a good amount of food, including an entire Thanksgiving dinner for 10, and the downstairs fridge held our overflow. We played on the dock and at the firepit, again, the views were spectacular at both. My grandkids loved the hammock.The grocery store was conveniently located next to some good restaurants, where we got pizzas, pasta and really good Chinese food.Carrying the trash to the local dump was time consuming and instead of making a second drop, I drove 2 bags home with me.The central living space was so large we easily had room for shared meals, charades and a couple of dance parties with the kids!If you want a nice large home with an amazing view and easy access to food and fun activities I recommend this place. Horseback riding lessons and trail riding are 20 minutes away. Putt putt, arcade and great restaurants less than 30 minutes away. And Roanoake or Lynchburg for great shopping less than an hour away. The cons were the steep incline of the entire property. Views would be limited in summer but beautiful in Spring, Fall and Winter. The heating ducts rattled in some bedrooms and the home is showing some signs of her age.Overall a solid 4 as we had a blast."

"Beautiful home with well stocked kitchen for cooking, plenty of dishes for large gathering! Grocery store within a mile, catering services we used were nearby and wonderful. Activities nearby and activities at the house as well. The owner was responsive to all questions & concerns and communication was timely. Would stay again!! "
