"Mya on check in desk was amazing she could tell I'd had a stressful day and went above and beyond. Room huge and well equipped. Bed was massive and comfortable. Convenient location. All in all an excellent stay."

"I would say the photo's oversell this. The rooms are spacious, but walls thin so you can hear everything next door. my 'double room' was in fact 2 singles pushed together, 1 of which was broken and the bathroom was outdated to say the least. On arrival, the guy behind the desk was just talking over us and rushing. It wasnt awful, but wouldnt be rushing back sadly"

"We were extremely disappointed having paid $600 for a 2 night stay in what was described as a superior sea view room. There was nothing superior about the room, the decor was tired, holes had been filled in the wall and had not been sanded and repainted. The wind whistled through the window. The water was not replenished on the 2nd day. Some of the staff were disinterested. The lift only services part of the hotel so you may have to carry luggage a few flights of stairs. The breakfast was nice was unfortunately is the only positive thing I can say. I stay in hotels a lot and this was the most disappointed I have been in a long time. I would not recommend staying here."

"Location of the hotel was good. Overall clean. Parking is opposite and £10 for 24 hr or hourly in parking behind hotel. Check in was easy. VIP free drink unlike other hotels were restricted in choice. MAJOR PROBLEM: The room sink was blocked and leaking and the main light not working. I could not fill the kettle with water for coffee. When I complained, just a smile and thank you for letting us know - no apologies - nothing."

"We had a sea view room. Nice big walk in wardrobe . The bathroom was good although the shower was Luke warm. Big bed and nice to have extra seating looking out over the balcony for two people as well as a chair at the dressing table. A small table on the balcony would be beneficial but may not have been there as we visited in April and was lucky with the weather to be sunny enough to sit on the balcony. Staff all friendly, very efficient in the restaurant and for breakfast. The decor of the room and hotel is a bit outdated but this was what we expected from a hotel of this size and age. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again."

"What a lovely hotel! The view from my room was amazing. The room itself was stunning and had all the extra touches that make your stay memorable. If it had been warmer I would have sat on the welcoming balcony, looking out to sea. Lovely location and stunning hotel. "

"Our stay at Hampton by Hilton Torquay lived up to the brand’s reputation for consistency and in several areas, exceeded expectations. Parking was straightforward, with ample options both on-street and in a nearby multi-storey just a short walk away (under 200 yards), which made arrival and daily outings very easy. The hotel foyer was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out, with useful local information readily available. Our room was on the smaller side compared to typical U.S. standards, though that’s fairly typical across Europe. It was, however, well equipped, including a small fridge for drinks, and stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries. One thing to note: the mattress is very firm. Those who prefer a harder bed will likely appreciate it, but it wasn’t quite to our liking and resulted in some back discomfort during our stay. A more significant downside was the inability to open the bedroom window. This meant relying entirely on the air conditioning, which worked perfectly well but we would have preferred the option of fresh air. Breakfast was included in our rate and was a real positive. There was a good selection each morning, with both hot items and a solid continental offering, all fresh and well presented. The location is excellent within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, local bus routes, and around 15 minutes on foot to two nearby rail stations. We stayed for six nights and would happily return."
