"We had a pleasant stay at The Briar Court Hotel. Location was good, close to the motorway and Huddersfield. Breakfast was good with some gluten free options. Staff were very helpful. We had a dog friendly room, but there was a large stain on the carpet."

"We were really unhappy at first as the room we were given the toilet stank, I went to reception to complain about this and the only choice I was given was to pay for an upgrade.!! Although it was only £15 I don't think that this was fair, especially as it was uninhabitable The receptionist said that he would pass this on to his manager but I have not heard a thing We are going again, but are obviously very wary about it all We are going quite a few times to this hotel and the previous rooms have been really nice I must admit I was quite shocked about this "

"There is no air conditioning. There were rats making sound biting through some board. There was loud noises of people running as I was given a room in the basement. Hardly used for 10 hours after booking the place for 2 days and no one would bother about the issue when raised. Only convenience is it's close to the train station and place of my work "

"Mini Sainsburys and post office were within yards away and very useful. I would have liked a few more small shelves in bathroom and I couldn’t even see myself in the mirror in the lounge so couldn’t understand what it was there for (maybe for decorative purposes!). Nice and warm and bed very comfortable. Although I understand Ts&Cs, for an elderly and vulnerable person such as myself I found stripping the bed and towels etc before leaving at 11:00am quite a tiring process. However, all in all it was so convenient to where I wanted to be it was quite good. "

"I found the flat easily from the address that was given, parking was very convenient behind the property and the door codes worked fine. The flat was clean and nicely maintained and decorated, the WiFi worked perfectly and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook a meal and the bathroom was clean with a shower that was easy to use. The bed was very comfortable, and the duvet and bed linen were particularly soft and snuggly.I feel that my stay could have been improved by adding a bedside lamp, and a floor lamp and a table lamp or two in the sitting room area. Because the ceilings are so high, the lighting was quite harsh, so I think some side lights would improve the ambiance. Although a lot of effort was made with little touches of decorative objects lighting is really important. As my stay was in early March it was cold outside, so I was obliged to put the radiators on, which worked well, because the windows are so tall, I would suggest a set of thermal curtains in the sitting area would stop the draught from the window. Fortunately a throw was provided so I was able to drape it over myself. All in all this accommodation makes a great base to stay in Huddersfield and I would definitely recommend it."
