"We had a pleasant stay at The Briar Court Hotel. Location was good, close to the motorway and Huddersfield. Breakfast was good with some gluten free options. Staff were very helpful. We had a dog friendly room, but there was a large stain on the carpet."

"We were really unhappy at first as the room we were given the toilet stank, I went to reception to complain about this and the only choice I was given was to pay for an upgrade.!! Although it was only £15 I don't think that this was fair, especially as it was uninhabitable The receptionist said that he would pass this on to his manager but I have not heard a thing We are going again, but are obviously very wary about it all We are going quite a few times to this hotel and the previous rooms have been really nice I must admit I was quite shocked about this "

"I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a good experience. The location is convenient, with parking right behind the hotel, and it was great to have breakfast included. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, and both room service and housekeeping were reliable. The only downsides were the lack of plug sockets near the bed, which made charging devices inconvenient, the absence of a shelf in the shower for toiletries, and (on a lighter note) it would be great if bacon was included at breakfast too. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay, with just a couple of minor practical issues."

"Just as described. Lovely location with hot tub, plus log fire and everything needed and on hand to use it, tea & coffee facilities and milk in the fridge. Just ensure you know the lodge number before arrival, as our booking confirmation didn’t say, so had to call/text and wait for response. Would definitely stay again and recommend. Perfect for a one-night stay occasion, as many have a 2-night minimum stay booking."

"The wardrobes were poor but apart from that everything was good. The bedroom onto the patio and hot tub can’t be accessed from the main house which means you have to go outside and downstairs to enter. Not a problem to us but should be noted. The ho tub was excellent and we all really enjoyed ourselves The only thing I didn’t like was that you can’t telephone anyone to confirm anything"

"We had a really nice stay, the house is spacious, plenty of sheets etc and they provided milk which was a nice touch.We had a real issue with flies on the evening - I understand the proximity to the water but given how stuffy the living room was we needed the door open - could they consider a screen perhaps to allow some ventilation?Otherwise lovely spot with some nice local walks and a nearby town. Thank you for having us."
