Top Horse Creek Recreation Area Hotel Reviews
Sequoia Village
10/10 Excellent
"Had a pleasant stay at the Sequoia Village hotel. The room was new, well maintained and very clean. The staff were very helpful. The location was great just outside the national park and the views from the room were spectacular. All in all a great place to stay while visiting in and around Sequoia National Park."
AutoCamp Sequoia
10/10 Excellent
"Loved our stay in Autocamp Sequoia. Our airstream was really stylish and fun to sleep in - if a bit of a squeeze with our 10 and 12 year old as the sofa bed was a small double (it's a click clack type), but we managed for a couple of nights. Location and amenities were great - we particularly loved the free granola (delicious and nut free!) and coffee in the mornings. I'd suggest bringing earplugs though as the Aircon is a very loud!"
The Parks Inn Bed and Breakfast
10/10 Excellent
"We loved this bed and breakfast. It was clean, welcoming and had character. The breakfasts were amazing and the location was great for Sequioa National park, and Three Rivers for evening meals. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub after a cold day hiking. The only negative was the shower in our room which was a little difficult to negotiate. A bit of an accident waiting to happen if you’re not careful. I’m sure they can do something about that because otherwise I would recommend this b and b."
Western Holiday Lodge Three Rivers
8/10 Good
"The room was decent for something near a National Park. Don't expect luxury furnishings and you won't be disappointed. Only stayed one night and for the most part, it was clean enough. We were a family of four and the room was plenty big. We had three small carry-on luggages with some backpacks and there was ample space to move around. Upside: Bathroom/toilet/shower looked like recent remodel. Simple breakfast was included which was a surprise. Downside: It was hot in August and AC was not working that great. We had the ground floor room and had to keep the shades mostly closed so people would not peer in. Location was about 25min from Sequoia Foothills Visitor Center."
Lazy J Ranch Motel
8/10 Good
"This motel was a pleasant surprise. First off the facilities were kept clean, and it looked very welcoming. The lady in the office was very kind. However, they did have a cat in the office so those that are allergic to pet dander need to be aware. Immediately, my eyes started itching and allergies flared up while I was in there. Took some meds and was able to tame the allergies. The facility has a nice swimming pool. From the motel, there is a walking path that will lead you to the Kaweah river, which was an excellent little hike and great place to go for a swim in the river. The room was clean and smelt fresh. Our room had a queen and a full size bed, and a nice chair which made the room a little crowded because the chair was in front of the bathroom entrance. The room could use a little paint because there were parts of the wall that were patched up. Perhaps they were in the middle of that when we booked who knows. I needed to get some ice for my drinking cups, but the ice machine did not work, that was disappointing. I like that you can park right in front of your room which made unloading our suitcases so much easier. Overall, it was a pleasant experience."
Private, upscale, riverfront cabin, sleeps 6; amazing amenities to dazzle
10/10 Excellent
"Sweet place for 4 adults two children (7) and (5) and two dogs! The place was very comfortable even in 109 degree weather outside. We were in the river a lot and the house was so nice to come back to. In August the water is way down but still suited us with two small kids and dogs. It was lovely and comfortable. Easy secure access to the large property. We had a bear visit in the night and knocked over the bear-prof trash can!My three criticisms of the place was, 1. it would be nice to have a real clear pathway down to the water. 2. The kitchen storage (pantry) space is missing, making food storage all over the place. The "office" area should be made interchangeable as a pantry. 3. The acorn shaped drawer pulls in the kitchen are painful to pull on and poked and surprised me every time. Still if it was the 6 of us again I would want to come back repeatedly!"

"This is such an awesome place. Host is amazing! Highly recommend. I would definitely stay here again when I come back."
"Peaceful Riverfront #1" only 6 miles to park entrance
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at the property during a heat wave in August. Thankfully the air conditioning at the property worked very well and kept the home nice and cool. It was too hot to enjoy the backyard and we only ate a meal once on the outdoor patio area. We were sad about that because it is a very nice outdoor area with plenty of seating.Everyday of our stay we escaped to the Sequoia National Park where the temperature was at least 20 degrees cooler. For those who are wondering if the river next to the property still flows in August, the answer is yes. However it is very shallow and not good for swimming. As other reviews indicate, the house is spacious and comfortable. It was very well equipped to accommodate the two toddlers that we travelled with. The furnishing, though dated, worked well for us.Our family likes to prepare our own food and we were disappointed by the limited availability and high prices of fresh fruit and vegetables at the local markets located in Three Rivers. We recommend buying food and supplies at the larger neighboring towns. If you are travelling with kids we would highly recommend this house as a good place to stay when visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon parks."
