Great location with Ocean and Lagoon views!

Nice place with beautiful views! Can’t beat the location. Walk, ride the bus or Uber everywhere! Nicely furnished and the owner was quick to respond to inquiries! Would stay here again!

Enjoyable Location

The property was clean, well equipped and met all our needs. It is a fantastic location for the Friday evening firework display, next to marina for fishing and whale watching trips and the lagoon for children. The Ilikai has a more relaxing atmosphere than the Hilton next door.

Great condo close to the hilton

We stayed at this condo for the first leg of our hawaii trip. check in was easy and parking was easy with the valet service. The condo was in great condition and had a great view of both the Hilton's show, fireworks, and the beach and ocean. We enjoyed the condo and the beach toys for our kids. Overall our stay was amazing and the condo was well stocked for our trip. If you have dust allergies be cautious since something in the condo set off my wife's allergies. Overall we felt it was amazing and the owners were very receptive about everything throughout the whole booking process!

2 weeks in paradise.

Started off with only 1 of 5 elevators working. This wasvq problem throughout our 2 week stay. They had to bring in portable generators to run the elevators. Most of the time only 2 or 3 elevators were up and running. There were huge lines of people trying to get to their rooms. Our unit needs updating, and we were surprised to see roaches in the unit everyday, despite us spraying and leaving all of our food in the refrigerator. All said, our stay was a 3 out of 5. This was the 3rd Island we visited and my least favorite.

Perfect Location With A Stunning View

Hello, There were 4 of us that stayed in this unit for 2 weeks, my husband, myself, aunt and uncle. We arrived March 2nd 2016 and departed March 16th, 2016. We had a very nice stay, it overlooked the ocean and lagoon it was picture perfect. The unit itself was clean and presentable, the beds were extremely comfortable. After traveling 24 hours it was nice to arrive to a quiet and clean condo. The only downfall was there was 4 of us and only 1 chair (for the beach). To rent a chair on the beach is $15.00 per day, so we went and bought a couple nice ones and left them in the apartment so future guests can use them. The only recommendation would be, perhaps having some basics there, salt, pepper, sugar, bottles of water. Also, as others have mentioned the Air Conditioning units were on the loud side, but they are new(er) units. Some restaurants nearby were the Chart House, their steaks will literally melt in your mouth. Outback, Red Lobster, Buffalo Wild Wings (they were awesome). We did excursions like the Chief's Luau (must see), E Noa Magical Tour of the island, Pearl Harbour, Whale Watching with Hawaiian Nautical, and a Sunset Dinner Cruise which was exceptional. We took trolly rides to Waikiki and went to the Cheese Factory a must do, especially if you like cheesecake. Would I stay/visit again, yes most definitely! I hope this helps. Nice Condo, great location

We stayed here for 4 nights during Spring Break, and it was just what we needed. The location is great, you can walk many places, and the beach and lagoon are steps from the condo. We are a family of 5 and we fit perfectly. One bedroom has a queen and single and the other bedroom has a King, and there was plenty of space. The firework show on Friday night was excellent, and the view from the balcony was awesome. We would stay here again. The only things that bothered us, were there are no screens on the sliding glass doors. If you opened the doors, bugs would come in, and so without being able to open the doors, we were hot at night. I don't like air conditioning, and can't sleep with that cold air blowing, so we did find it hot at night, and being next to the water, we would have liked being able to hear the waves, but we couldn't leave the doors open. Screens would have made it a 5 star rating for us. The only other thing, is it would have been nice to have some basic items in the kitchen, like salt and pepper, or olive oil, or spices, or zip lock bags...The kitchen has some basic cookware and utensils, but we wold have appreciated not having to go out and buy a big thing of olive oil, that we ended up wasting. Normally when we rent through VRBO, the condo has some basics, this one did not as far as beyond cook wear and plates/bowls/utensils. We had great weather and really enjoyed the beach.

Wont stay here again

Well, it’s hard to figure out where to start. I’ve been so upset that it was probably best that I waited to cool off before making any comments. Basically, that was the worst lodging experience of my entire life. This condo looked as if it hadn’t been used in months. It was completely filthy from top to bottom. We didn’t even have a chance to unpack as we spent the first 2 ½-3 hours just cleaning it as best we could just to make it useable. Then after calling about this issue we had to wait until 10:00 the next morning before a cleaning crew arrived to do a deep dive on this unit. So, we sat around and waited all morning for them to show up and then we had to leave for another 2-3 hours while they finished cleaning. With that said, let me share a list of issues that we encountered upon our arrival. 1) The floors were completely filthy. 2) Everything hanging on the walls, pictures, mirrors, clock etc were covered in dust. 3) There was dust on the closet shelves. 4) There was thick dust under the beds and dressers. 5) The safe in the master bedroom was inoperable. 6) The sheets didn’t fit the beds. 7) The sofa was horribly uncomfortable. There was literally a piece of plywood under the cushions. 8) There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. 9) Master bath shower curtains were filthy and stained. 10) Mirrors and pictures in master bath covered in dust. 11) Master bath countertop was dirty. 12) Soap holder in master bath shower had remnants of soap scum. 13) Found used razors in the second bath. 14) Master Bedroom AC unit was so loud it made it unusable for sleeping. 15) Top of the stove was filthy and was so bad that we couldn’t even get the stains off. 16) Fridge was filthy inside and out. 17) We had to run several cycles in the dishwasher to wash absolutely everything in every cupboard and drawer before we would even use any of it. I’m sure there were a couple other items but this should give anyone a clear outline of what we experienced. Considering how much we spent for this condo I would expect some kind of reimbursement to be forthcoming..

Perfect for my family of three

My family and I had a great stay. We arrived on a Thursday and left on Wednesday. The owner was in communication days before we left and when we arrived. His directions made it super easy to find our room and entry was a breeze. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms made for a very comfortable stay. There is a true wall for the master room and the second room has a true wall as well, but there is a small gap where the wall meets the patio door. Room was still quiet for my sleeping teen. The kitchen was equipped with utensils but nothing extra which was fine for us because we ate out for every meal, or we ate out leftovers. There were beach towels in the bathroom and some beach supplies on the lanai. The view from the lanai was awesome! You can easily see the lagoon and ocean from the 13th floor. We came to tour colleges and if my daughter decides this is the place for her, we will definitely stay again.

Love location & view. Good beds, plenty dishes and appliances. One of bathroom floors not that clean. Safe not working, remote to one air conditionerDid not work, tv in room with two beds had no internet connection, clock needs batteries, and freezer door needs adjustment as makes hard to shut refrigerator door.

The worst rental experience that I have ever had.

The property is fine enough -- much smaller than the pictures let on, but decent enough for a very basic situation. The bedrooms/beds are falsely advertised. The second bedroom, which was expected to have a double and a queen had a single bed instead of a queen. Upon notifying the owner and other people involved in hosting about the issue with the posting versus what was present, I was threatened and harassed by the owner multiple times a day. The owner insists the single/twin bed is a queen size bed. The owner is unreasonable and tried to extort money from me as a result of notifying him that the expected queen bed was instead a twin sized bed. While i followed every single house rule and every agreement in the contract, the owner is knowingly falsifying information. I had to get VRBO involved to have them stop harassing me multiple times a day. The overall property is dated - often at least one of the elevators is not working so you may wait up to 10 minutes for the lift. No water fountains or water refilling stations are available in the property. The kitchen is minimally outfitted. The bathrooms need serious updating The property is so-so but the owner and other people involved in the hosting process are terrible. If you raise an issue be ready to be harassed via text message and through VRBO's messaging platform. Also be prepared to have the owner try to extort money from you or have "property inspectors" enter the property during your stay. Beware.

Very nice property

Unit was very nice and had a great view. Well stocked with pretty much anything you need. Could use some maintenance. Several lights did not work. Refrigerator/freezer handles modified and hit when closing either one.

Great Location

Hosts were quick to respond. First glance - nice place. Soon, we realized how dirty it was. Cleaning service is doing a very poor job. Built up dust in many areas. This place needs a good Spring Cleaning in every room and on the balcony. We never cooked there because there were bugs in the kitchen drawers and sink and countertops (and in the bathrooms). The second bedroom is awkward (no place to put luggage, no surfaces to put things, need suitcase holders or a dresser, plug ins were in odd places). Shower handle is loose and hard to use. Would be nice if they provided a start up kit with coffee and creamers, etc. They had a few small shampoos but no conditioner and only 2 rolls of TP. The main bedroom was big and had a dresser and closet. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom has a very high bathtub (apparently a Japanese soaker tub). It was very difficult to get in and out of. There were light switches that had no function that we could see. We messaged the Hosts to make suggestions to improve this place. They said they were getting new cleaners but never addressed anything else. We asked for face clothes as they only provided one per person and only 1 hand towel for each bathroom (not enough for a nine day stay). It took 3 days to get them. The view from the balcony (13th floor) is wonderful, overlooking the Lagoon and Ocean. You can see the Friday night Fireworks from the balcony. We watched the sunsets at the nearby marina water’s edge or the Ilikai patio.

Hotel has major problems

We have stayed at the Ilikai many times in the past with good experiences. This time was a disaster! The elevators had major problems 7 out of the 10 days we were there. One day we were completely trapped in our room. The pool was closed for 3 days! The first floor restaurant was also closed. As far as the room goes, it was kind of dirty. One of the toilets leaked from the bottom. We used the other one. Next time if i need another bedroom I would just book another room. It was too expensive for what you get.

great locations, but avoid this condo.

We booked here for the location which was the ONLY good thing about it. It was dirty/grimy/filthy. We had to run all of the dishes through the dishwasher before we could use any as there was a layer of greasy substance on all the dishes. The couch was not usable- had boards that moved if we sat down and the cover was filthy. We sat on the dining chairs and counter chairs. The wifi was unreliable- the landlord referred me to housekeeping who said it was a building issue and he would call back later. I reset the modem and was shocked at the set up and the electrical tangle of exposed cords/wire. ended up using hot spot on my cell. The drain in the shower was slow and backed up every time it was used. Clearly a known issue as there was a large bottle of Drain-o in the cabinet. I wore my water shoes in the shower due to grime. The check in process was difficult. I was traveling between many places in the days prior to my stay. The owner sent an email from outside of the VRBO system with an alternate rental agreement that had the door code and other instructions on it. Then he sent multiple emails asking if I had received it and to respond. I had difficulty locating that email and after several emails he sent me one that said he would not communicate with me any longer. It was very stressful and thankfully I finally was able to locate the original email. Rent elsewhere if you are able.

DIRTY AND RUN DOWN

READ THIS AND ALL REVIEWS SO YOU DON’T END UP AT THIS DUMP! View and location are great! New floors have been installed. That’s about it! Someone else mentioned this was equivocal to Motel 6; I disagree 100%. Motel 6 is way better and much cleaner. Furnishings were old, mismatched, dirty and gross! The furnishings pretty much look like they were picked up in an alley. The couch, with cushions that don’t fit it, has a filthy slip cover on it with a very suspicious stain. My young adult daughter commented in disgust and jest, that she was afraid to sit on the couch for fear of getting pregnant from this gross stain. The lamps were mismatched, dirty, and some were stained. Gross and ultra tacky. The owner/manager said that this place had been deep cleaned. That may have been possible, but it certainly has not been deep cleaned in the last decade. Under the bed did not show any dust biuldup, however behind the doors and in corners were filthy. The twin bed did not have sheets. The owner/manger sent a message before we checked in about not using the microwave and coffee pot at the same time. This is obviously a problem he is aware of, and since it is an electrical situation, it should be taken care of. As far as the kitchen goes, it just felt grimy and we did not want to cook there. Also, I was sent the message that the shower can back up; clearly this is a problem he knows about and is not taking care of. It’s unsanitary and gross. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT STAY HERE!

The unit was more then I expexcted. Our family travels often and we like trying off brand resorts. This unit was one of the better places we have stayed. Loved the layout and amenities. Motel 6 of VRBOS

1. Parking was $50 a DAY and owner made it seem like parking was included until we arrived since I asked prior. 2. There was NO CUTTING BOARD and all kitchen equipment was so cheap. There was not even enough plates or cups for the number of people. 3. The shower in the master is obviously not included with a picture because it is a death trap with a 4ft tub included. My 74 year old father stayed in this room and could not use the shower at all. 4. The towels and linen seemed like they stole it from other motels because everything was mismatched and rough. 5. My brother stayed in a different VRBO in the same facility and to see their condo vs ours was obvious that this owner does not upgrade anything.

Location is great, the rest....meh

this place is great for location, close to the beach and the lagoon. downstairs is a great breakfast spot and a nice a cafe for bites/smoothies and an ice cream shop for the kids. the rest was not great. we had problems with the TV in one room and the door lock requiring multiple (one count was over 20 times) inputs to work. VRBO host deferred me to the onsite property manager who was rude, difficult to understand, and would say things like "this is always the TV with problems", or "the lock sticks sometimes. just keep trying". ultimately needed the cable company to fix the TV which was inconvenient timing. 'start up' supplies given for a 4 day stay were tiny! bath towel were rough, hard and old. beach towels and sheets in the second bedroom were stained. beds uncomfortable. bathtub had a strange very high edge that required us to sit on the edge and swing our feet over because it was not safe to step into it. for a 4 night stay this cost us over 3K, and it is NOT worth it!

Beautiful view from balcony

Beautiful view down to the lagoon from condo balcony. We were front and center from the balcony for the Friday evening fireworks and avoided the traffic jam after the show. Walk to the beach and many beachside restaurants. We have a wonderful stay
