8/10 Good

This was our third time staying at Waikiki Skytower, each time in a different apartment. Unfortunately, when we arrived at this apartment, it had not been cleaned to any standard. Although the bed (comfortable) had clean sheets, the underlay had not been changed. There were two almost threadbare towels in the bathroom. The bottom of the shower/bath was dirty and no slip mat. The liner on the shower curtain was full of mould and a build-up of soap. These cost 3.99 from Walmart, so should be replaced with each tenant, after all, we have paid a hefty cleaning fee. Under the sink in the kitchen was a petri-dish of black mould, which stank. The property manager did have the leak fixed, but I had to bleach the bottom of the cupboard before the plumber arrived. There was no iron or ironing board. After using the one towel each, we took a trip to Ross to buy some basic requirements that this place was lacking, including towels, various kitchen utensils, an iron, cleaning products, and more. We eventually found the rest of the towels stuffed into the dryer, still damp and smelly. We set about cleaning the apartment to the standard we thought our cleaning fee had covered. We then settled into a routine. Waikiki Skytower is in the best location in Waikiki, and although this unit did not initially meet our expectations, I would stay in this unit again if the property manager provides us with two keys and can promise that the unit is cleaned, including a fresh underlay on the bed.
