Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill-Dudley

8/10 Good
"Stayed for 2 nights October 2026 with my 2 Granddaughters 22 and 16. Parking is chargeable, however if you are staying at the hotel and you add your registration to the computer they say it is free. (fingers crossed) Staff really friendly and cheerful. Rooms as expected clean and neat. Access via lift needs the room card to operate. Arriving on the Thursday and given restaurant opening times. Lovely meal Thursday night food and service great, Buffet Breakfast. The pancake machine was great, my 2 granddaughters loved that. Friday Evening was a let down, arrived and restaurant closed only bar food available. Sat down to order as no where else to go, to be told the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. Really we should have been told this change on arrival the day before, Granddaughter's went swimming both evenings they said it was a bit grubby and had broken tiles. I have to say I did not visit the pool. Altogether we did what we wanted to do in Dudley and made the best of it. Would we go again ? Possibly"

Frequently asked questions

Which area of Holt Fleet is best to stay in for cheap hotels?
Holt Fleet is a small village, so instead of distinct neighbourhoods with varying hotel prices, you'll find that budget-friendly accommodation options are generally located in the surrounding towns and the wider Worcestershire area. For solo travellers and couples looking for affordable stays, considering nearby towns like Worcester or Droitwich Spa will offer more choices than Holt Fleet itself.

Worcester, a historic city just a short drive from Holt Fleet, provides a greater selection of budget hotels, guesthouses, and B&Bs. Many of these are situated near the city centre, offering easy access to attractions like Worcester Cathedral and the riverside without breaking the bank. Public transport links are good, making it straightforward to explore the wider region.

Droitwich Spa, another charming town nearby, also offers a range of more affordable accommodation. It's known for its brine baths and pleasant parks, providing a tranquil base for budget-conscious travellers.
When is the most affordable time to visit Holt Fleet?
The most affordable time to visit Holt Fleet is generally during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October), outside of school holidays and the peak summer months. These periods offer milder weather and fewer crowds, translating into lower prices for accommodation and activities.

For solo travellers, visiting midweek during these times can yield even greater savings on guesthouses and local inns. You'll find the area's natural beauty, such as walks along the River Severn, particularly enjoyable without the summer rush, and many local pubs and cafes offer quieter, more personal experiences.

Families might also find value in visiting during these shoulder seasons, especially if their children are not yet in school or if they can travel during half-term breaks when not all regions are on holiday simultaneously.
What free activities should we do in Holt Fleet?
You'll find several enjoyable and free activities in and around Holt Fleet, superb for budget-conscious travellers. The area's natural beauty and historical charm offer plenty to explore without spending a penny.

For couples and solo travellers, a leisurely stroll along the River Severn is a must. You can walk along sections of the riverside paths, enjoying the tranquil waters and watching the boats go by. The Holt Fleet Bridge itself is a picturesque spot, offering lovely views of the surrounding countryside and an excellent photo opportunity.

Another fantastic free option is to explore the local footpaths and public rights of way that crisscross the Worcestershire countryside. Many routes offer scenic walks through fields and woodlands, providing opportunities for birdwatching and enjoying the peace and quiet of rural England.
