Two Quiet Nights
We were in Room 10, far enough away from the dining room not to have internet but we didn't mind. Internet was strong down in dining room. Our room was large and very comfortable. Bed and pillows great. AC worked really well against the humidity. We enjoyed dinner each night on site, the food was tasty and well presented. The continental breakfast was complimentary, with hot items at cost. Would recommend.

Highly recommend, a hidden treasure
We loved our stay at Hill End Lodge. The room was large, bed very comfortable with tea & coffee facilities in our room. The host was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed breakfast and coffee’s, the evening meal was delicious. The Lodge is set in beautiful bush surroundings, such a pleasure to be greeted in the mornings by the in house chook & roaster, parrots and rosellas. Highly recommend you stay, when visiting Hill End at gorgeous historical town.

CATERING IS HARD AT HILL END. MOST TIMES WE ARE GOOD BUT BEING HUMAN WE NOW AND AGAIN ARE HUMAN AND MESS AND WE ALSO LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT THOSE OCCASIONS

A wonderful place to stay
I cant speak highly enough about our stay. All of the staff were incredibly friendly, our room was fabulous and the food from the restaurant is divine. We stayed two nights and the grounds are lovely, the shower is instantaneous, its peaceful and quiet and we were treated like family. I would return in a heartbeat- it felt like a home away from home. We had a very relaxed stay. Close to town - we rode our bikes in and out of town.
The restaurant is fantastic - delicious and varied menu with generous servings. Breakfast is included and there is plenty of variety
The grounds and gardens are lovely - plenty of room for the kids to safely run around
Nature abounds - local birds come in for a feed
Darling little chicken and her companion ( no, he isn't noisy)

I was quoted $240 for 3 people for 2 nights. On checkout he decided to charge another $40 for the extra person. There was only the 3 of us that I had booked for. I won't stay there again.

Had a great stay, made even more enjoyable by John and Brutus, who made us feel really welcome. I'd highly recommend the Hill End Lodge to anyone looking for comfortable accommodation, good food and friendly service. Hill End is an important town, full of history from our gold rush days, with heaps to see and learn, so somewhere to spend a couple of nights after a day or two of exploring, is just what the Hill End Lodge can provide.

Definitely worth returning to.
Cabin is a very comfortable size. Clean and modern. On-site restaurant has a limited menu but good quality food at a respectable price. The setting of the cabins is quiet and relaxing with the pleasing addition of kangaroos and native parrots in the late afternoon. This is 4+ stars of relaxing enjoyment for me.

Lovely quiet setting, close to town. Friendly staff. Simple, clean rooms. Only negative is no towel racks in bathroom, hang towels over shower screen. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others

I didn't get to the property- they called after I booked to say the room was not available and they hadn't blocked it online yet. 2 weeks later and refund still not sorted. Property says they may refund all except the $20 which is the Expedia fee. If I go through Expedia chat they say they don't recognise the booking. I don't understand why I should loose money when making a booking in good faith.

you not happy with Expedia . nor me your booking goes overseas before we here see it, these booking sites are a long way from being correct and time delays are constant problem; i deal with them every day. will see if they post this response as they censor before they allow response to go live

We are so happy to find this place for the long weekend. The area was a nice piece of history. The surroundings were safe and picturesque. The room and facilities were just what you need. The staff is helpful and friendly. My kids loved hanging out with "new friends" at the shed, and walking around. Kangaroos are everywhere which everyone loved! The night sky is ideal for any astronomy enthusiastic. Last, but not least, the gastronomy of the are is delicious! We can't wait to be there again!

What a lovely clean place so close to historic Hill End. Friendly staff with a great sense of Aussie humour. So quiet and peaceful..the wild life was very trusting and they fed the parrots which were gorgeous..

Mixed responses about our CHARLEY. FRIENDLY fella who loves to sit on my lap when i am having a cuppa. regret and sorry he disturbed your country sleep in and rest, the 5am is unusual as they are still in their lockup until about 6.30 am .. that is when we open up to begin our day. young and older guests love him as he just loves be nursed and have a cuddle. to happier days

The accommodation was very clean and lovely. We were definitely looked after. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely be coming back. Food at The Shed was lovely as was breakfast.

Friendly helpful staff, very relaxed atmosphere. Kangaroos, Birds, ducks, geese, dogs and chickens all wandering around to add a unique touch to the lodge. Really great food, excellent local wines. Enjoyed our stay.
