Higashi Hotels, Hamamatsu

Higashi doesn't really have direct "neighbourhood" comparisons in the traditional sense, as it's more of a district within a city, but the most similar areas in terms of what they offer travellers are Shizuoka City's Aoi Ward and Suruga Ward. These are the central and most developed areas that provide the quality and convenience travellers look for.For those prioritising convenience and direct access to amenities, Aoi Ward is an excellent choice. It's the administrative and commercial heart of Shizuoka City, centred around Shizuoka Station. Here you'll find a wide selection of hotels, department stores, and restaurants. The main shopping streets, like both sides of the station, are bustling and offer everything from high-end boutiques to local eateries. It's also home to Sunpu Castle Park, a lovely green space for a leisurely stroll. Couples will appreciate the ease of access to dining and transport for exploring the wider region.Suruga Ward offers a slightly different appeal, particularly for those interested in a more relaxed pace with access to nature, while still being very convenient. It stretches from the city centre towards the coast and is known for its scenic spots. The area around Kunozan Toshogu Shrine offers historical significance and beautiful views, while Mochimune Beach is popular for those wanting to enjoy the seaside. Families often find Suruga Ward appealing due to its open spaces and attractions like the Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art.
