We were very displeased with our stay to say the least. We selected this cabin specifically because of the amenities that it offered for my nieces 18th b-day.We traveled 8 hours, I took off from work, and my nieces and her friends missed school. We arrived on Friday evening and a few things we noticed were that the cabin was not as clean as expected due to paying cleaning fees. There was hair in the shower, we found hair in one of the beds and stains on the mattress padding, and dust about the cabin (extra dust on the blinds). Thankfully we brought our own blankets and sheets, and we stripped the beds immediately as we were unaware of the last time the items have actually been cleaned. My niece suffers from asthma and had to use her inhaler on more than one occasion. The owners request that you wash the dishes and put them away before your stay, but they obviously do not check if people clean the dishes before they put them away. When we went to use the dishes they still had food on them and we had to wash them again before they could be used. One of the biggest selling points for a group of teenage girls was the hot tub.The hot tub DID NOT WORK.We turned it on and the girls hopped in before realizing that it wot heating up.We followed all of the instructions, we tried troubleshooting and even called the owner who said it would take about 2 hours for the hot tub to heat up, the girls waited in the bathing suits for 5 hours and the hot tub only rose 3 degrees to 86 degrees Fahrenheit. When they attempted to take showers the hot water ran out in a couple of minutes. One of the girls had to take a cold shower to get the chemicals off from the hot tub they were unable to enjoy. There was also an issue with the heating system in the house. The heat rises, as in any two-story home, but the heat upstairs was unbearable while it was freezing downstairs. We tried to light the fireplace to stay warm and found that the cabin was not equipped with any lighters that could be used to light the fire, or any firewood. The owners neglected to mention that the nearest supermarket is appx 1 1/2 hours away, we bought firewood and had an old lighter, but the only store in sight was the gas station, and they were out of lighters. The home is located so far from anything and it’s so dark as the roads have have no lighting, and the roads are very dangerous at night that we couldn’t go anywhere else in search of a lighter. We ended not being able to ended not being able to use it.
