Charming Farmhouse on Beautiful Horse Farm

The Flying Duck Farmhouse is a restored vintage farmhouse located at the foot of Three Sisters Mountains less than 4 miles from downtown Dahlonega. Surrounded by horse pastures, wineries, hiking trails, waterfalls, breathtaking views and one of the most delightful small towns in the USA. Spend a weekend in our clean mountain air enjoying the unique shops and restaurants in Dahlonega and local wineries (Cavender Creek, Wolf Mountain, Frogtown and Kaya Vineyards are all less than 5 miles away). Or, you can enjoy hiking, rafting, kayaking, mountain climbing, zip lining, trout fishing, or just relaxing. Our Farmhouse is the perfect get away in a great location.

The farmhouse can accommodate up to 5 people. There are two bedrooms each with a queen bed and one pullout sofa in the living room. To make your sleep more comfortable, we use PeachSkin Bedding and hypoallergenic pillow covers. There is a fully equipped kitchen if you want to eat-in. The decor is cozy with a quirky edge to add some happy to your stay.

Just a short walk away is a large deck overlooking a beautiful stream - a perfect place to pan for gold or have cocktails. You may run into Katie, our miniature donkey, who loves to have her ears rubbed or see horses grazing in the pastures.

There is a large pond on the farm that has lots fish. You are welcomed to bring your poles/bait and try your luck. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Catch and release only please.

We have just added a fire pit at the farmhouse for your use.

We love our horse farm and enjoy sharing it with others.

Don't miss this one....This stay was so wonderful. It was an incredible weekend getaway for our family. The cottage was so clean and perfect! Mike & Brenda were the perfect hosts. So friendly, treated us like family. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle. WE ARE ALREADY TRYING TO PLAN ANOTHER STAY.

Wedding weekend

We were intown for a family wedding and this was the perfect place for our family of 4! There was ample room to get ready for rehearsal and ceremony, plus we enjoyed the fishing, horses, and Katie! The farmhouse was perfect!

Mothers Day Getaway

My mom and I stayed at Duck Farm for a Mother/Daughter Mother's Day weekend getaway in May 2025. We had a wonderful experience! The farm house is exactly as pictured - well stocked, clean with a lovely, homey feel! Perfect location, very convenient to several wineries and downtown Dahlonega. Would definitely stay again!

Great Horse Farm and Hosts!

We enjoyed our stay here, in the country but close to lots of wineries, food and shopping! Loved that you can walk around the property and pet the horses and especially the miniature donkey! Hosts were very friendly and responsive!

Excellent accommodation for nearby wedding.

The house was easy to find, very clean, decorated nicely, and had everything our family of 5 needed. We walked the horse farm property and our kids loved seeing the horses, donkey, and dogs. We enjoyed talking to the property owners and watching them ride horses before going into Dahlonega and attending our wedding 1mile away. Peaceful location and beautiful stars but close to many things to do. We would stay here again.

Mountain getaway

This was probably one of the nicest places we have stayed in the North Georgia Mountains. Owner was very friendly and let us pet the horses and donkey. Will definitely stay here again!

Peaceful stay close to town

The location is quiet and peaceful and the house is charming. The shower is small but the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well laid out. The grounds are so relaxing! It’s a short drive to town.

One of our favorite weekend getaways!

We've stayed 3 times now and will definitely be back many more times! The house is adorable, well equipped, and so convenient for a visit to wineries, downtown, hiking trails - everything. And you don't need to go far for entertainment- Katie and friends are the perfect hosts for a walk around the property and the fishing is plentiful. Love The Flying Duck!

The lovely cottage is only 10 minutes from downtown Dahlonega. Yet, far enough out enough out to feel like a rural mountain getaway. The Duck Family Farm exceeded our expectations. We will be back!

Amazing

This was one of the best properties we have ever stayed at. The owners were friendly and we enjoyed meeting Mike and the dogs, horses and especially Katie, the donkey. It was immaculate and the decor made us feel like we were home. I’d give it 10 stars if I could!

A beautiful home away from home

We just got home from our stay and we were so sad to end our vacation. The house looks just like the photos and had all the comforts of home. The property is even more beautiful in person. My kids are already asking when we can go back.

This was an amazing property that offered both serene quiet while still being close to everything! It's also got beautiful views! The house was clean and very cute. The only downside was the shower was small; however, it makes up for it by having a detachable shower head. My mom and i panned for gold in the nearby creek. We loved that they had gold pans and directions for us to do this! I would definitely stay here again!

Paradise in North Georgia

Flying Duck Farm was charming, quiet, and an easy drive from the quaint town of Dahlonega. Our hosts were quick to respond to all our questions both before and during our visit and the cabin itself was extremely comfortable. We were especially impressed by all of the "extra" amenities (like the record player and gold panning equipment) and the obvious care Mr. and Mrs. Duck took in preparing the property for guests. Overall we had a wonderful time and highly recommend this property.

Beautiful!

Cozy little cabin with beautiful views all around. We got to stroll down and pet one of the horses, look at the donkey and do a little trail walk. House has everything you could need and more! If we are ever in the area we will definitely visit again!

Girls getaway

My 3 childhood best friends and I visited the farm for a 41st bday celebration. We loved the view of the lake and meeting the horses. House was well kept, clean, and easy to get to. The property is close to wineries and downtown Dahlonega. Was a perfect size for us.
