This place is a so cozy!! It had everything you could need and more. It was cold so we didn’t get to use the fire pit, but we are planning on coming back when it’s warmer! The host was very responsive and had everything organized so you felt at home.
A perfect stay in a perfect home! The “old schoolhouse” is my favorite VRBO rental and this was my second stay. It has everything you’d ever need, is super clean and charming, and feels so welcoming!
Callie was great at communicating. Property was a short drive to town so was very convenient but out enough to feel like you were away from the busy hustle of the square to make it relaxing.
We chose this little cottage for our home base while attending the UNG Book Fair. What a perfect respite! The porches were divine. The decor was warm and inviting. Our host was friendly and available-- leaving a small treat in the fridge even! It is a perfect hide away. Highly recommend.
Wonderfully decorated and managed property. The amount of thought put in by Callie is abundantly clear. You'll find that she provided everything you might need to ensure that you are comfortable and feel at home. The home is charming and warm and comfortable and located approximately 12 minutes from all the major areas you want to visit in the downtown. One of the best and most enjoyable stays I've had in after dozens of rentals.
Fantastic stay at an historic and charming “old schoolhouse”!
We absolutely loved every minute and every inch of the old schoolhouse! Super comfortable and clean, decorated beautifully, and equipped with everything you could want. Felt private and restful - we will return!
I don’t know where to start, everything was so nice. Clean, best quality sheets and towels, extremely well stocked kitchen. It was like we had walked into our own home, just bring a Change of clothes and something to eat. The pictures do not do this place justice. Fire pit super easy to light, outdoor lighting brought a fairytale atmosphere, 2 porches with lots of comfy seating. The owner has managed to capture and maintain the beauty of an old building with rich history, yet make it super cozy and comfy. HIGHLY recommend! Will definitely be back. Thank you for making our getaway so wonderful!
Great private property, space and location! Accurate description and reviews. Very comfortable, clean with some antique decor. Enjoyed out stay and hope to return soon.
The schoolhouse was in a lovely location and extremely clean. Being around 10 minutes from town was a bonus! It is very pet friendly, with unique touches that made our pup feel right at home! Every aspect of the home feels inviting and comfortable.
The description of this little cottage was perfect - it was extremely charming! Callie was the ultimate host, providing all the amenities we needed & more. And the fact that the cottage was pet-friendly was an added benefit. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of previous pets being there, but we literally could not tell there have ever been other animals in the house. It was spotless. I highly recommend this cottage for a stay...squeaky floorboards & all! (They just added to the charm!)
Without question one of the very best properties ever. The attention to every single detail, the lovely location, outstanding owner, and the decor both charming and comfortable all combine for an amazing stay.
This property exceeded my expectations. All the small touches made our stay perfection. The decor was a perfect mixture of historical and modern. Close enough to town yet secluded. I am already planning another visit.
This was our annual mother/daughter trip. The personal touches throughout the school house were perfect. One of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. We enjoyed the boardgames in the closet, sitting out by the fire pit, and just enjoying nature all around the house. Definitely would love to return here one day
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the schoolhouse. The property was clean and charmingly remodeled. The cabin was well stocked/furnished and secluded enough to feel disconnected on vacation, but about 15 min easy drives from downtown Dahlonega and surrounding vinyards/restaurants. Would stay again for another getaway weekend or trip with another couple.
Lovely place to stay. The home so clean and comfy! The host thought of everything to make your stay perfect. The house was well stocked with the things you sometimes forget so you could continue to enjoy your time without multiple trips to the store. If you want to relax and enjoy nature, this place is perfect! We plan to visit again!
Having family history in the Dahlonega area, the Schoolhouse Cottage was the perfect choice for us. Callie's attention to detail and her respect of history are such a part of the cottage from the beautiful decor to the books documenting the history of education as well as life in the mountains. I found pictures of my father as a young teacher in her book on schoolhouses and pictures of my grandfather as a long-time educator. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and the Schoolhouse is our top choice when we return to Dahlonega.
Callie has checked all the boxes! Location, cleanliness, character, and just the perfect getaway! The schoolhouse has such a warm atmosphere that you literally never want to leave! We will be back soon! Thank you again Callie!
We can’t say enough great things about this house and the host. Callie’s attention to detail is outstanding, she responded immediately to questions, and even filled a dog bowl with water for our arrival! The beds were extra comfy, everything in the house is new and high end- great showers, fully stocked kitchen, great seating with 3 fully separate porches (2 are screened), easy to use gas fire pit with a beautifully lit yard- even a swing in the yard which our kids loved. The driveway and road were easy and not steep or curvy. Great neighborhood to walk the dog. Close to stores and hiking/waterfalls, only 30 min from Helen which is fun. The house was just so aesthetically pleasing that it made the trip feel luxurious. We couldn’t stop taking pictures for decorating ideas. If I could have Callie decorate our house…! Thank you for making our Thanksgiving dinner and trip so special Callie! This is not just your average house rental!
The renovated schoolhouse was perfect! Very private and beautiful surroundings. Cleanest place I’ve ever stayed in. The owner thought of so many special things to make our stay enjoyable. We loved lounging on the porches and the decorative outdoor lighting at night was just the right touch. Can’t wait to come back in the winter and enjoy the fire pit.
