"We had a lovely stay at the Old Schoolhouse. Our room and bathroom were spacious. Our hosts had homemade treats for us each day (an oatmeal raisin cookie our first day and a piece of spice cake the next). Our breakfast was at a large table with the other guests. We loved talking to them, several of whom were walking the length of Hadrian's wall. The breakfast itself was delicious and generous. We would absolutely stay here again."

I had a meal which was reasonably priced and very satisfying. I tried the beer - of course and The Bishop is an excellent real ale. The pub is beside the Country park and the river, which made for a very enjoyable walk"
