Room wasn't properly aired out smelled stail mattress hurt my back

The hotel itself is quaint. Very high-end feel when you walk in. The staff was friendly enough. The waitstaff in the restaurant was stellar. Nice pool area. Had a very backyard feel to it. It was very clean. The gym was adequate. They definitely try with it. They even offer complimentary water bottles in the mini refrigerator. The gym had a very “working out in someone’s basement” feel to it as you WERE working out in the basement. The negatives were: They make you pay a resort fee which you are forced to use there at the restaurant or you lose the money. They also charge a $150 PER NIGHT deposit which I have NEVER heard of! Hotels that charge deposits usually charge a one time flat fee. Right off the bat, they put a SEVERAL HUNDRED dollar hold on my card I hadn’t planned on which made my trip a little more frugal than I would have liked. Also, the rooms are very nice but they have leather furniture in them that was starting to look a little shabby in my opinion. Overall it was a decent hotel for a couple of night’s stay.

Property looks great. Right in the center of LA. Many homeless

Room was poorly cleaned. A lot of dust hanging from the ceiling. Hairs inside the bathtub - not ours. Staff was helpful and friendly.
