"Down stairs is beautiful, good quality food and amazing old building. Upstairs mattresses hard lumpy and uneven, poor night's sleep. Used soap in shower tray from previous Tennant. Bedroom and bathroom could do do with upgrading Upstairs rooms let hotel down. Friendly staff "

"Great breakfast and evening meal, however breakfast on our last day was very dissapointing, overcooked eggs and clearly a different chef from the previous day. The hotel states light cleaning is carried out during your stay but our bed wasnt made and the dirty cups not cleaned. We found this very dissapointing, the only thing the housekeeping did was empty the bin and refill the tea bags, we would of much preferred the bed making. We had an initial glitch when we arrived as someone was already in the pod we had been allocated & weren't very welcoming to us. After a quick phone call to the owners all was resolved very quickly"

"Had a fantastic few days here. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Whenever we asked they always provided an answer to our requests promptly and happily. Charlotte was incredibly informative and passionate in answering our local questions of which her knowledge was invaluable to us. Lovely room we had, being hyper critical it is an old building so the bathroom layout meant you couldn't really have a shower, so bathing it was instead. Had a wonderful stay, highly recommended. "Rooms were comfortable and location of hotel excellent as close to Forest of Dean. No breakfast available and have to walk to the adjacent hotel, the Belfry, for breakfast. The breakfast there was extortionate.. I paid £30 for a bowl of cereal, scrambled eggs on toast, a side of toast and coffee! Day light robbery! The Littledean itself is basic. Rooms are comfortable but the whole hotel is very tired looking and desperately needs a face lift. Staff were friendly. "
