"The building has an extensive history and is an architectural marvel. The room was spacious and well appointed. Dinner was exquisite. The grounds were immaculately kept and the surrounding land was a picture of pastoral beauty. The pool and sauna were relaxing and we had them all to ourselves. It was a wonderful place to celebrate our anniversary."

"Staff were okay. No enthusiasm or whatsoever and just literally gave us the welcome paper and that's it. Restaurant staff were slightly better as they were a bit more welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was basic and dry. We wanted to swim and use the pool with our baby but weren't allowed as they told us that there's only a time allowed for babies, however this wasn't explained to us upon checking in and a bit of consideration and 'hospitality' could go a long way as we requested that even a quick lounge would really be appreciated but nothing. Again, dry communication. "

"Lovely, unique interiors in this 17th Century building. The bar area has character and the prices are reasonable. Rooms were spacious. Excellent and friendly staff too."

"All staff we met were friendly and helpful, including spa staff. Room clean and spacious, not modern but traditional as would expect in older part of building. Shower hot, bathroom huge! Mattress not the best though. Think room would be cold in Winter due to period windows, single glazed and not air tight. Breakfast also traditional, nice to have tea and coffee served at table, fresh bread , hot food good, cereals limited and basic."
