"Check in was quite late (5pm) so we paid for an early one, and check out was very early (9am) so we paid for a late one (10am) I think 3am check in and 10am check out is quite the norm, so the times should be changed and not an extra payment incurred.Clean lodge, clean hot tub lovely bedding, nice to have a few bits and bobs in the lodge on arrival, like dishwasher tablets and washing machine tablets, along with tea towel and washing up liquid. Cupboard's full of all the utensil's you need and loads of glassware.Helpful staff at reception. Will defiantly stay again :)"

"Nice staff. But walls peeling in bathroom, door entry into room has huge gap underneath so you can hear everything in and out of the room. Flies buzzing around, bins being emptied at 8am next to our room. Mould in bathroom"

"The bar staff at check-in were friendly. The rooms are upstairs in old characterful Essex pub in a pretty village. There are only four parking spaces which were taken so we parked behind the local co-op a short walk away. The room itself was small but clean and well equipped. However, the biggest issue is the lack of ventilation in the room which was hot and airless without the radiator being on. We had to have the fan on all night (in December) as couldn’t open the window and the extractor in the bathroom did not work. This is the second time we have stayed here to visit family. The first time was a few years ago in a different room which was also extremely hot and airless. Sadly, we wouldn’t stay again."
