This hotel is beautiful! We ended up booking an extra night because we loved the area so much. Hakone is a beautiful town full of nature. It’s so green all around. The hotel has a great bakery coffee area where they hand make their breads. There is a bus stop down the end of the road which takes you everywhere. Not a lot of dining options in the town but the hotel has a great little restaurant.

Our least favourite stay in Japan. They do not prioritize guests for their dining, no one greeted us at check-in (we had to hike in the dark from the road up to reception). The staff were SUPER unhelpful and a bit rude. The walls in the room were peeling. Although it is on a bus route, there is not much transportation here. It was a huge disappointment and I wish we could get a refund and have stayed elsewhere.,

Absolutely beautiful inside and out! Sound of wind in trees, breathtaking views, glorious onsen! Staff could not be nicer or more efficient. Even made me a birthday card! 6 course dinner was incredible! I will be back!

벽난로를 사용해 볼 수 있는 경험도 좋았고 냉장고 안에 채워져있는 무료 제공 음료도 기분을 좋게 해줬어요! 온센을 이용할 수 있어 피로 풀기에 좋았고요. 조식도 종류가 다양하진 않아도 모든 메뉴가 맛있었어요! 아침에 체크 아웃을 한 뒤 카페에서 무료 커피를 즐기며 예쁜 풍경을 바라보는 것도 좋았습니다! 커피 맛있었어요!ㅠ 그냥 이 숙소에서 있는 시간 다 너무 좋았어요 ㅜㅜ

Where to refresh your body & sould
I strongly recommend Retreat Hakone Före if you want to refresh your body & should for a couple of days. It's an exquisite structure fully surrounded by nature, where you can enjoy all the relax you need. The staff is awesome, rooms are clean, free coffee and tea at the hotel cafe, and the breakfast buffet...OMG amazing! Hot springs are also extremely clean and natural.

The hotel was great, onsen nice, and generally a good stay. When asking for 1 hour late check out, I was very disappointed that the hotel asked for additional charge. This is not standard practice so was very disappointing. Additionally, the hotel clearly says “adult only” yet there were many children staying at the hotel. The title of the hotel needs to be changed

Awesome forest retreat
We stayed here for one night and it was the perfect place to relax after seeing museums in Hakone (highly recommend the Open Air Sculpture museum and Pola museum). Great food and onsen, cozy room with nice architecture, and we also got a lovely massage. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It wasn’t a problem that we don’t speak any Japanese. The hotel and surrounding grounds were pristinely neat and clean. Highly recommend!

Everything is good except - they have removed the a la carte option from the menu in the restaurant and the visitors are forced to choose one of the available courses - this is NOT GOOD. Everything else is fine.

Luxury meets tranquility in hakone
The Nest was everything we expected and more. Peaceful surroundings, great design, attentive service and a beautiful onsen made this a really special stay. The bed was super comfy and you could look out over the surrounding wilderness through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Will definitely be coming back!

A country retreat
A fairly long uphill walk from the road if you have no car. (Golf cart assistance on check in and out). No TV in the room but the hotel style is rather a 'retreat'. Shower room/toilet floor and walls bare cement finish. Additional charge of 150 Yen per night for the hot spring bath (whether used or not!)

Hotel was in a great location, great staff, but effeciency is not great, not staff fault but they need beter training, just small things but it definitely shows. Setting is nice, rooms nice size but needs upgrading. It is a shame as it could be top class but its not, 4stars at best, dinner is not very good so we were forced to eat out.

A hidden gem
Absolutely loved the hotel. Hotel staff is super friendly. You can get free coffee/ drinks from the hotel's nice little cafe. The food at Woodside which is the hotel's restaurant is EXCELLENT. I really did not expect this high-quality food and service for this price. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. Onsen is also very nice -- one outside and another indoor. It was never crowded and I actually enjoyed the onsen place all by myself everytime I went there. You can really relax at this hotel. The hotel is also close to many attractions such as the Glass Museum and the Open Air Museum, etc. I highly recommend this place.

Great stay - will definitely be back
lovely place. Location was a little hard to find, especially since we were driving after sunset, but the drive was definitely worth it. The ambience is great - nestled amidst nature. Amenities are well maintained, with thoughtful touches such as Muji sleepwear provided (which was superb for the cold weather). Design is modern, very clean and great service. There's nothing not to like about this place and we will definitely be back!!
