Wonderful and warm reception. We felt at home and cared for beyond our wildest dreams.
The reception my partner and I have received from David and Yorgos has been wonderful and beyond our wildest dreams. We had the chance to get to know two warm, welcoming and generous human beings, whose constant guidance and attention proved essential in order for us to explore the enticing island of Kythira in the most profitable way from all points of view. Their useful suggestions helped us to experience the cultural pearls and natural treasures of this enchanted place to the fullest. The eight days we spent there were more than enough to enjoy the pleasure of making friends with two extraordinarily kind and caring persons, in love with their island and happy to share its magic aura with curious outsiders as we were. They really made us feel at home – which, I must say, is far from a usual sensation, when away on holiday. Not only did they impeccably care for us right down to the slightest detail in terms of cleaning and tidying; they offered us the rare privilege of interesting conversation and genuine cultural exchange. Finally yet importantly, they shared with us the authentic taste of Kythira in the most literal sense of the word: the scent and texture of the parrot fish freshly caught by Yorgos will not be the less vivid of our memories. Shortly: an unbelievably pleasant stay with an unpredicted turn of events: me made new friends.

The words of Massimo (whose mother language is not English - as is mine) are so eloquent that a response in kind will result in only the most feeble of outpourings. Of course the couple are the dream of any renter: quiet, undemanding almost to a fault, clean, generous, full of the best of humanity (this sounds like a paid advertisement but it isn't) and interesting - all of course beckoning the promise of further contact and hopeful life-long friendship. It goes without saying that it would be wonderful to host them again but I fear they must explore other sights and sounds as all travellers must do. They possess the right kind of curiosity that never intrudes but reveals an inner desire to learn all things, if possible. Certainly the best renters ever in my experience. The only bad thing is that such a wonderful experience will only tarnish all further ones. Love to you both and let our paths cross again - soon and often!
