Emerson Inn

"The staff was wonderful, especially the manager. She was so helpful getting us discount tickets for a whale watching trip even though it was a holiday weekend! The bar is lovely and welcoming. We enjoyed grabbing a cocktail and a snack there after we checked in. It even has a grand piano. I only wish they had a pianist come in to play in the evening or at breakfast but unfortunately it remained silent and was used as a beautiful place to grab a newspaper - as a musician this made me sad. The breakfast was very nice in the morning. I wish they had a couple of hot breakfast options mostly for my husband’s sake, perhaps bacon or sausage, but I really enjoyed the croissants/muffins, hard boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt options. Coffee and tea table service was a really nice touch and the view of the ocean while dining on the porch or in the breakfast room was a great way to start our day. The King ocean view bedroom was small but comfortable. The only minor issue was the TV didn’t have any apps to watch your favorite shows so it was fairly limited. When we did want to watch something in the later evening we went downstairs to the game room to watch on the big screen down there. They had board games and chess down there too (along with a library) but we never saw anyone else using it. Too bad - it’s a nice space. The house is lovely and peaceful. No businesses within walking distance but it was just a short drive to Rockport and Gloucester. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!"

"The Yankee Clipper Inn was an excellent choice in every way. The grounds, rooms and restaurant were perfect in every way. Due to health concerns I called ahead asking to be moved to the first floor. No rooms were available, I was not able to change my reservation. However when I arrived they had moved rooms around to accommodate for my health issues. I was unable to walk to enjoy the gazebo and waterfront but it was lovely from the restaurant porch seating area. I can’t say enough about the staff and their hospitality."

Downtown Rockport Stay with Private Ocean Deck

"Wonderful little place just right for the two of us. The ocean front deck was amazing and right on the beach with private stairs to the beach. We loved that all linen and towels were provided, as well as bath toiletries and a hair dryer. Keurig machine with coffee pods too! Located right in town with plenty of shops and restaurants. Just perfect!"

"This was hands down the best experience we have ever had with a short term rental! Tim was a fantastic host and the communication was super! This home was absolutely stunning - a beautiful, large, 1850s house, exquisitely maintained and appointed with fabulous art throughout. The home is in a perfect location across from the beach and walkable to everything you might want to do in downtown Rockport. The hosts have thought of everything - if you like to cook there is a well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, gas grill, beach chairs and umbrella, and a front porch designed for sitting in rockers and watching the ocean and town. Our extended family of 12 was very comfortable and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves! We were all very sad when it came time to leave - we all wished we could stay there forever! Wish we could give this more than 5 stars!"
