"Stayed at the Microtel in Jacksonville, NC from April 9–12, 2026, and it was easily one of the most frustrating hotel stays I’ve had. Right at check-in, I was hit with a $50 “room key” deposit that was never mentioned anywhere during booking. There was no clear explanation—just an expectation to pay it. Hidden or poorly explained charges like this feel deceptive and set the tone immediately. The front desk experience made things worse. The receptionist was noticeably rude, slammed the credit card machine down during the transaction, and had an overall dismissive attitude. There was no greeting, no professionalism—just a sense that guests were an inconvenience. Trying to resolve the issue afterward was pointless. When I called to make a complaint, I was given a reference number and nothing else—no effort to address the concern, no follow-up, no accountability. The room itself was basic and not worth the hassle that came with the stay. Between the lack of transparency, poor treatment at the front desk, and zero customer service when issues were raised, this was not a good experience. I would not stay here again and would strongly recommend looking at other options in the area. "

"Great location at intersection of N. Marine and Western Blvd. Close to all the big chain stores and restaurants. Directly across from Walmart and walking distance to Murphy, a modern gas station and convenience store just a few steps away from motel. Dog friendly with plenty of grassy, tree lined areas to walk them. Very quiet, without extra pedestrian traffic and noisy guests. Coin free washers and dryers on site with use of laundry app. Accommodating, friendly staff. "

"Parking is safe and easy they do require. If you have more than vehicle they ask your license plate numbers and require ids for all adults in room who have vehicle that will be parked there."

"DO NOT STAY ALONE!!! I have stayed at the suburban in Jacksonville for a week. I sat alone at the back picnic table and was offered a drink by patrons that I was not a party of. I took two sips from the female and remember nothing ekse but waking up bruised, barely able to walk, no panties and bleeding. I assume was roofied and raped here this week. I have bruises and a sore pelvis. I Don’t remember a thing. Nothing. Two sips from a female and the males took good fun in it. I am embarrassed and feel disgisting. I immediately filed a police report including my things that were incaluable stolen. I had a rape kit done, and other things have happened at this hotel. The manager daid ‘I dont think this is the hotel for you’ and proceeded to have police escort me off the premises. "
