"This hotel used to be much better. The mall that it sits atop is now totally deserted (no shops), so it’s a bit depressing. Hotel food is mediocre at best. Room was clean. Staff worked very hard and were very friendly and helpful. The location is great. Right above the Friendship Heights redline metro station. That gets you to the zoo in just a few stops and downtown in 20 minutes to the monuments and sights. There are also public buses from in front of the hotel that go down Wisconsin Avenue to Georgetown (takes 20-30 minutes). So it’s very convenient. "

"We had a comfortable stay at The Hotel while visiting family in the area. We enjoyed not having to leave the hotel to dine . The restaurants on site were delicious."

"My 1st room smelled a lot like smoke and the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. After refusing a deodorizing room spray, I was moved to another room. The mattresses in both rooms were old, lumpy and very uncomfortable. I slept on the lounge chair the entire stay. When asked for the room to be cleaned, filling the body soap dispenser was missed and I had to ask for it to be filled. When I engaged the cleaning staff for towels or the liquid soap, they were nice and responded immediately. The front desk staff were just ok, nothing impressive. "
