"Upon arrival we noticed an odor. I had assummed the property was non smoking but soon found a pack of cigarettes above the microwave. Kelly left us a note stating the dishwasher was broken..not a big deal as we would only be eating in a few times. Housekeeping was lacking a bit. Dishes and utensils in the cabinets had food on them. The dining room table had a sticky residue in a couple spots.The dryer lint trap was so packed the dryer would not dry. We had very little cell service in the area...

"The house was very reasonably priced so we did not go with high expectations. The location is great with spectacular views of Barren Lake. Everything is very simple with comfy beds and clean bathrooms. The rental was clean and comfortable. It could use updating but for the price it is more than reasonable and I can completely understand the owners not wanting to invest. Altogether we had a great time. Thank you"

"We enjoyed our stay here. The house and surrounding property are both beautiful! We loved the grill and the porch swing. We longed to use the fire pit, but the weather didn’t cooperate. Echoing another reviewer, there are only 4 places to dine indoors and we had almost constant rain, so we couldn’t use the ample outdoor dining spaces for our family of 6. "My boys and I were looking for a nice place to go and get away from memorial weekend. The house is located close to the lake. We were able to rent a boat and have a nice day on the lake Saturday and then come back to a relaxing house for the rest of the weekend. We dealt with several severe storms. The owner was kind enough to reach out to us while we were on the lake to let us know that we were out of power, and that it should be back on soon."
