Ski Hotels & Resorts in Gero from AU$119

What a lovely older style (in Australian standards) resort in Takayama. The onsen is amazing and so are the restaurants. Great place to stay where you never need to leave!

We had the best experience so far in our travels around parts of Japan through staying at this hotel. Our room was a Deluxe Double and was quite spacious with a king size bed, small sitting area plus small desk/bureau, a separate shoji screened-off shower/toilet and entry vestibule. The vestibule light stays on permanently (or at least we couldn't find a way to turn it off), but a shoji screen door mutes the light for sleeping. Staff were kind, friendly and helpful. The onsen area is wonderful...

We booked the room with private onsen for three nights and that's so relaxing. The 9 course dinners (Japanese cuisine) (half board) were superb and have certainly exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and quantity. Breakfasts are different every morning too. The cost may be considered high but it's worth it. Not a lot of staff can speak English but should be able to get by. The lady night manager was not particularly friendly but overall the atmosphere was very professional. Highly...

This place is amazing. We were picked up from the station and was an easy drive. Owned by a chef who cooked us the most amazing dinner and breakfast. Dinner was one of the best Italian meals I have had with fantastic service and great wine. Breakfast was also the best I have had in Japan as they are generally not that great at it. The bedding was comfortable and so warm. It was great to have a bath (onsen of sorts) at the end of a cold day. The only negative was it was a little bit far from town...

Hugely welcoming when you arrive. The staff are lovely and the hotel is spotless. We had breakfast (Japanese both days) and a dinner here, which was all superb. The hot bath is really well set up too. Hotel is between the station and old town, so a perfect location.

We stayed for two nights and the traditional room was very comfortable. On the first night we booked in for dinner and it was worth every Yen...absolutely delicious. Probably the best food we've had in our 2 weeks in Japan. The ryokan is close to the folk village, although we didn't visit. The courtesy bus is a nice touch because it is a 15 or 20 minute walk from the train station. Would definitely stay here again.

A fabulous traditional experience especially when you include half board and enjoy a Japanese dinner and breakfast. Everyone at the ryokan was very friendly and our group loved our stay.

The staff are very helpful. The room is very clean and cozy. The breakfast and dinner are so great! I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Friendly staff, beautiful room, beautiful onsen, and dinner and breakfast was excellent. We stayed with two teenage daughter and jus had an amazing 2 day stay. Also great walks on the area
