"This is a very local non touristy village. We enjoyed the hospitality (even if we couldn’t communicate)
The owner helped accomadate my sea food allergy. We really liked the hot bath available in the beautiful water. The only thing I would say is that it isn’t close to anything and you have to walk about 22 minutes to the train "

"The staff really made this trip better for us. We are not traditional tourists. My husband was having an art exhibition and we had lots of luggage and work type needs. The staff helped us make a local call for an appointment and called a taxi for us.
The room was wonderful. I wish they would add a few detailes to their website so that its clear the delux studio has a wash machine in the roomand soap. However, this is minor in the grand scheme of things.
The location can't be beat. There is a grocery store right around the corner and so many popular sights to walk to."
"As far as the staff and property and room is concerned, I give this place a 10+++. You cannot find better service and staff in all of Japan. However, the only complaint is for Americans. The breakfast is very Japanese and very limited. Also very crowded on the weekends. If you want to use the pool, you need to make an appointment for 60 minutes and the pool is always very crowded with families and children. Also, the hotel is 30 minutes away from where everything happens in Kyoto. So you should expect to be taking taxis everywhere. Other than that, the property staff and service is beyond expectations."
