Secluded Wooded Retreat 6- BR, W/Pond, Hot Tub, Sleeps 12+!!

As you drive down our wooded lane you leave behind your hectic daily life and enter your own private refuge.

The Main House has 4 BRs and 3.5 baths. The main floor has open floor plan w/ a gourmet kitchen, a 6-seat island, dining room table for 10, and a naturally lighted sitting room with an old fashioned wood stove. The main floor MBR contains a king bed, private bath w/large two head shower, and a private balcony. Off the dining area is another balcony and a covered/screened-in porch. The kitchen has a stove and gas grill with all the utensils needed to prepare a feast for family and friends.

The lower level offers 3 spacious BRs w/ queen beds w/built-in bookcases, 2 full baths and walk out access to a large backyard. The centrally located media room contains a large TV and lots of comfortable seating.

The Coach House has 2 queen sized BRs and 1 full bath. A game area with pool, foosball, poker, and air hockey tables. Also a video seating area.

A brick walkway leads to a private pond, deck/pier w/arbor, hot tub and lots of outdoor furniture to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.

Renters of Galena Territory homes have access to a Marina(to fish or rent boats, tennis courts), Owner's Club(fitness room, basketball court, new indoor/outdoor pool), Golf Courses(63-holes & driving range), Winter Sports(ice skating, sledding, cross country skiing), Shennadoah Riding Center(trail rides & lessons).

Great spot

Overall, a great place to get a group of people together. There were 10 in our group and we were able to relax, enjoy the screened porch, firepit and hot tub and cook some wonderful meals together.

Great kitchen!

Wonderful open kitchen and living room. The kitchen had plenty of kitchenware to create any meal you want. It was great! The teens loved the Carriage house!

Extended Family Gathering

Property was clean and had plenty of space for our family to gather. Access to Galena and Galena territory amenities was excellent. Plenty in the area for our multi age family, so having a central spot for staging and laughing was important. Deck and campfire is a great amenity to bring the family spirit together.

Cozy and comfortable retreat

We rented this property for a skiing trip to Chestnut Resort in mid-February. It's an amazing place—comfortable, cozy, and spacious enough for 13 people across 4 families, with ample kitchen equipment. The playful character and personality of the owner really shine through.

Great girls getaway

We had a great stay. The house was spacious enough to accommodate our group of 12 very comfortably. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Several people enjoyed the hot tub but would have appreciated some solar lights to light up the path to get to it. We loved the secluded and quiet setting and still were close enough to enjoy the town of Galena.

Galena visit

Our group of 14 (adults and kids) really enjoyed the property. It is a large amount of space and feels very secluded. We saw lots of wildlife from the house and appreciated how remote it feels though it is an easy drive into downtown Galena. We had fun exploring the hiking trails and also had fun escaping the heat at the Owner's club pool. We will back to Galena in the future and we would recommend this property for any large group.

Great family stay, minor hiccups

We enjoyed our stay here with 9 adults and 2 children. Plenty of room and places to spread out. We did experience a few minor inconveniences with the electrical switches in the house (lights working and then not working with no rhyme or reason,) but overall really enjoyed the house and its amenities. The listing should be updated with the correct processes for check in and check out as those are outdated/incorrect.

Thanksgiving Get-Away

We decided to go “over the river and through the woods” for our extended-family Thanksgiving holiday this year. Our group ranged in age from 5 to 70 and the house and property were perfect for our 3 nights together. Plenty of room (bigger than the photos indicate) for game playing, crafting and cooking together! The kids had fun in the hot tub, game room and exploring around the pond. Kitchen worked great for preparing our Thanksgiving dinner. Dishwasher was a bit glitchy - or maybe we were : ) A very comfortable (if not posh) place to hang out together in a beautiful secluded setting (and the hosts have curated a really lovely collection of children books for a variety of ages- MANY of which were read during our stay). Dave was helpful and answered the questioned we had. Lots of good memories made!

Multi Family Weekend

The home was as listed. We enjoyed our time and the privacy the home provided. The home was clean, larger than it appears in photos and worked very well for 3 families (14 people) to stay. The kids enjoyed time in the coach house next door. We didn't get to use the hot tub but they enjoyed sledding down the hill in the front yard. There was plenty of cups and dishes for everyone. The owner was accommodating with our check in/out needs. Also, lots to look at throughout the house, it made for lots of conversation and the kids enjoyed all the unique treasures. We would stay again! Not deal breakers but things to note:- You have to drop off the trash at a site about 10 minutes away. The key card needed to get in needs to be returned to the home.- We needed to use the extra pull out beds. The house has no extra pillows or blankets only an extra set of sheets per room. - They only provided 1-2 towels per room. It wasn't enough to accommodate everyone. Bring extra towels and beach towels if using hot tub.

Needs maintenance

I am not disappointed we stayed here, the layout of the house and guest house were great. Secluded, no next door neighbors. Lots of room to be together and also many spaces to get away by yourself. Appreciated the large dining table so all 12 of us could eat together. Kitchen had what we needed to make a large meal every night. Washer and dryer were fine. 6 passes included to galena territory owners club, would have been nice to have more. BUT - The squirrel living in the wall of the master bedroom woke us up every morning about 6:00 am, The 2 patio doors off of the dining room were very difficult to open and close. The dishwasher was pretty useless, we ended up washing dishes by hand. Water was hard, there was a softener in the utility room, but certainly was not operational. Other minor things here and there that you live with in your own house, but expect more when you rent from someone else. Owner did not reply to vrbo message or text to his phone, but did answer when I called.

Secluded and Spacious

We had a great time. The house had a good number of bedrooms and bathrooms, especially if you include the coach house. It also has a good kitchen/dining room/screened in porch area for eating, games, and hanging out. There were also many couch beds!

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay!

My family and I stayed here and we all loved it! The property was very clean and also was very large. We all had lots of room to enjoy different activities. The owner was also extremely nice and accommodating.

Overall this property suited out families needs very well. The large main living area and kitchen was a great space for our 12-14 guests to gather, eat, and play games together.Compared to other Vrbo rentals we have utilized this one did lack a bit in the little 'extras, but those are not required, such as travel toiletries if something was forgotten by a guest, extra towels and wash clothes for bathing, extra pillows for those who may need to use a couch or air mattress for sleeping, but again. these are not required, but always a nice tough when offered. Thanks for being a nice host and offering such a secluded home for our families stay. The carriage house over the garage was a very nice space for the 5 teenagers to have a place of their own to go to at times to play games and veg on their phones.

Amazing!

This property surpassed my expectations. The house is amazing and very comfortable for a large group. There is a huge living / kitchen area and a screened in porch. The bedrooms are all remote enough to have privacy. All bedrooms are very comfortable. The house was very clean. Master suite on the main floor was great for someone who doesn’t want to do stairs. The fire pit was so enjoyable. We saw a lot of wild life and the privacy was exactly what we wanted. Note that the decor and house are a bit rustic but we LOVED that about it. We are already planning our next stay!
