The food whilst a challenge to provide for so many people at once was ok but lacked attention. Meat cooked too much. Lack of flavour and the snack bar is just cheap processed food which could be a lot better prepared but as I say a good job for so many

The hotel is rather big and spacious however the cleanliness is below average specially in the dining room. We booked a sea view room and got put in a room which had a large olive tree right in front of our window so the only view we had was a large amount of leaves _ took 3 days to move us to another room after daily battle (if you pay extra to have a sea view you would accept to see the sea !!!). Food was ok with a good selection of daily salads however dessert were exactly the same every meal so a bit disappointing. Drinks were as you would expect in an all inclusive. The most disappointing part was the cleanliness of the dining room _ dirty plates were constantly piling on all tables meaning on busy time it was hard to find a clean table to eat. We had couple of power cut as well as and no water for half a day meaning ... No toilet / no shower / no coffee at bkfst ... Pool was heated so a nice addition for our comfort through the day - only down side was the limited amount of shades around both pools as no umbrella available. A nice water slides just out of the hotel but as it was outside you had to constantly come back to the hotel bars if you wanted a drink - nice addition but not very convenient. Rooms were rather large with a good size bathroom. Friendly staff but felt there were a shortage of staff considering the hotel were full - waiting time for getting drinks were quite long specially in the evening. Overall a OK stay but won't come back or recommend to friends.

Great stay
We had a great 6 night stay in a suite. Absolutely huge lounge area, bedroom and the biggest round bath ive ever seen! We had a wonderful wrap around balcony, again huge, with table chairs and 2 sunbeds. The food was varied and catered for all tastes and nationalities. The wholechotel was very clean, from rooms to all communal areas. We'd hired a car and parked just outside on the road which was easy. Highly recommend.

We stayed for 7 nights over Easter and had a fabulous experience. We had a big room with beautiful see views. The staff were very friendly and attentive. There was an excellent choice of foods with different themed nights. Fresh fish and meat were cooked daily. Good selection of wine too. We also used the Spa and had an excellent massage. The gym does not open until 10.00am so for those wanting to have a morning workout (before bfast) bear that in mind. The hotel is on a hill so lots of steps although lifts are available. A 10 minutes walk down a steep hill will take you to the beach and a small shopping centre. The hotel provides 2 daily buses to the beach and back. At the beach you will have to pay for sunbeds as they are not part of the hotel. €13.50 for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. There’s a small “chiringuito “ charging extortionate prices!! Fuerteventura can be a very windy island so if you’ve never been before be aware! We had a great time and will definitely go back!

Great hotel!
Very lovely stay, you get what you pay for. Well deserved title of a 4 star hotel. We were originally given a ground floor room however I upgraded as I am paranoid about the safety of ground floors and I paid an extra €80 for a sea view room and it was massive and the view was immense! Definitely recommend! Short walk to Burger King and the gorgeous beach although it’s a steep hill, takes around 5-10 mins and on some occasions we took a taxi which was around €3.50. Food and drink - just an average all inclusive. Just what you’d expect from a 4 star. Only problem I had with my stay is that I wanted to buy a photo that a photographer took of me and my boyfriend in the pool. But there was never anyone at the photo desk! We even left a note with our number on saying we wanted to buy a photo but no response. We asked reception a couple of times but they couldn’t help as it is a separate company. Apart from that, amazing stay and would definitely recommend. Would I stay again? Maybe, lovely hotel but location wise there’s not much going on.

Great stay. Excellent food, drink and facilities. A little far from the airport so make sure you organise this in advance but apart from that a fab stay! Would recommend. They also put on a great NYE Gala which was excellent.

It is a good quality, large Barcelo network hotel, with an overall high standard. Fairly close (15 min walk ) to a gorgeous, wide , never crowded sandy beach, with ocean waves, clean water and lifeguards once upon a time. In a bit of a distance from Morro Jable centre, therefore far from the town centre nighttime parties noise. Excellent food. Large choice for every meal ( be it breakfast, lunch or dinner), very tasty and good quality. Several freshly prepared options, including meat, fish and vegetarian for every meal. Nice pools with pool bars for those wanting to spend time at the hotel. Evening time entertainment is fine for the enthusiasts of hotel parties. DRAWBACK(s): Evening/ night entertainment in the summer time ( we were in August) takes place on a free air stage, on the large hotel "patio", surrounded by hotel buildings. This is often EXTREMELY NOISY, lasting up UNTIL MIDNIGHT. That means that all of the hotel rooms facing the " patio", that is at least 2/3 of the hotel (!) are not able to find peace and quiet for half of the night! We were literally unable to hear each other talking aloud on the balcony at 23.30 one night! This is strange and difficult to understand. Hoteldisco ( every night after the official entertainment event) is outside on the same stage. It is IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP with the balcony door open. Overall we had a good holiday but only after we were allowed to change the room for the other end of the hotel, after 3 days of suffering the noise.

A well maintained, well staffed resort with lots of things for kids to do. We had a great time. Rooms were modern and clean with a Spanish feel and cleaning staff were super helpful. Not on the beach but close enough (a ten min walk), I would suggest renting a car though because there are so many beautiful beaches to explore in Fuerteventura. The only thing I would say is that the food in the main hall was not the best I’ve had but that’s not even really a complaint, that subject to opinion.

lovely family break
Great for families with the kids club that our daughter has enjoyed a lot. Our room was clean and comfortable (common spaces like corridors and staircases could do with a bit of attention). The food was tasty and plenty of choice. All inclusive option was great value for money. The only downside is the fact that the indoor pool is only available for kids for just 2 hours a day (10 to 12) and the adults pay £10 each to enter. In the summer it is probably of no importance but in winter months it would be great if the pool was available for a couple of more hours as it gets empty after 12 anyway.

A Pearl of Jandia :)
High standard family oriented all inclusive resort: good quality food with fresh fruit juices, bottled wines & many other premium touches. 2 outdoor pools with one heated and well laid out. Good kids activities including a splash pad, playground and kids + teens club etc along with a very good natured animation team. Charming location in the lunaresque Jandia natural park. The few negatives include the distance + slope from the beach/sea and the fact that the "sea views" are over the tops of the sister resort in front, a few extra charges for parking & towels that are more of a nuisance than a cost, a two tier "all" inclusive system & the remoteness of the location. Be aware also that Fuerteventura is prone to winds that can result in a "wind chill" factor on the odd gloomy days. Overall though an excellent resort and good value for money high standard all inclusive package - would definitely recommend for families!

We booked our holiday on 12.12.17. There was a discrepancy with the prices on line. We were told by Expedia staff that they would honour the All Inclusive price shown, which we subsequently booked. This was also confirmed by Expedia to us by e-mail. The Hotel would not accept this. We did try to contact Expedia whilst we were at the Hotel with no avail. The holiday was to celebrate our special anniversary but because of this fault with Expedia/Hotel it was marred. We would like to inform you that we wanted All Inclusive, therefore,reluctantly, we paid 144 euros. Done what it said on the label.
Not expensive so didn’t expect the Ritz however the hotel had a nice feel with very friendly staff and was well looked after. Only complaint would be the temperature of the food which ranged from like warm to cold unless you got it fresh as it came if the grill if from the kitchen. There were several microwaves dotted around if you liked warm or hot food but the queues for these were usually long so suggest heat you food then get your salad. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would come back again.

Hotel near to the a wonderful beach
:-) Our room was decorated for kids but I didn't ask for another one because it has a nice sea view, and we didn't pay for it... The food was excellent almost in every evening... The bar's drinks for all inclusive are just local... For a nice drink I had to pay €2-4...

Really Nice Place
Lovely place, loads of pools if you want piece & quiet but the crater park is real fun no matter what age you are!) The food is standard AI, mass catering but even as a non meat & non gluten eater, I always managed to eat something tasty. I wouldn't book anything less than AI here as it's pretty remote & the onsite 'supermarket' doesn't have great choice & is expensive. I enjoyed it & would go again.

My Second Home
This was my 5th stay at the (former Barcelo) Occidental Jandia Mar. The location is beautiful and the beaches and weather is very hard to beat. The beach is endless and if you enjoy walking, then you are in for a treat as the beach stretches as far as the eye can see and beyond along the coastline. The sea is crystal clear and you can walk out a fair distance before the waters get deep. The resort is situated on the south of the island, so expect a 2 hour coach transfer to reach your hotel. I have visited the island at various times of the year and the temperature averages between 25-30 degrees. Don't be put off by the islands 'windy' reputation - in all of the times I have visited, there have been very few actual windy days. Despite Jandia being a quieter resort than Corralejo on the north of the island, there are still various places to eat and drink in the evenings. The main walk of shops, restaurants and bars are open until late and there is a fair amount of choice. If you were staying for a week then you would be able to dine somewhere different every night of the week. The options vary from pasta and pizza type dishes, to fresh fish and grilled meat. There is not much in the way of nightlife in the resort, with only one or two small bar/'nightclubs'. I would not recommend this holiday to people looking to party. I love Fuerteventura and this visit marked my 15th stay on the island in under 10 years and I intend to continue to visit for the foreseeable future.

Lovely hotel
We had a lovely time at the Jandia Mar. Everything about it we loved! Yes it's on a steep hill, but we knew this before going, being reasonably fit, it's manageable. The only moan I'd have is that the beds aren't that comfy, but after a few G&T's they're fine! The food is great, always something for everyone. The pool areas are immaculate, as are the reception areas. A couple of the waiters in restaurant aren't too happy about their work but didn't affect us too much. There is entertainment every evening, but we never watched it, not really our cup of tea so we sat outside upstairs on a lovely terraced area. As for the beach, it's beautiful (apart from the nudists!) one of the best beaches we've been to. Overall we loved it here, will hopefully be back.

Very poor customer experience.....don't bother!
Our room was in a particularly noisy location above the bar area. The hotel did very little to help with the noise and refused to move us room. This meant we didn't sleep at all as they were constantly moving furniture. The guest experience manager was rude and clearly not interested or authorised to do anything. This attitude was then mirrored by the Assistant Manager. This hotel is clearly used to customers complaints as they are absolutely immune. They actually told us that any issues had tobe taken up with Hotels.com. Passing the buck! The food in the hotel was poor. There was a lack of variety and it was lukewarm at best. There were not enough seats in the bar area and the bar areas were understaffed which meant queuing regularly for drinks. On 3 occasions we had no hot water which poses a health risk. I would also question why a 4 star hotel charges guests to enter their Spa. This hotel advertises an indoor pool but you are charged extra to use it. All in all, save your money and sanity and stay somewhere else!

Nice room horrible food
Room is excelent, big and clean. The pool area and the bar is good too. However the food is a let down. Food is generally cold and of poor quality. Very steep walk from the beach. Safe is not free Parking is not free Hassle to get the towels. You need to pay at reception and collect at the spa which is a couple of floors down then on return you need to go to spa first then to reception and bring al the paperwork with you. New Year's Eve dinner and party was very good although we got a slot for 6:15 which being Spanish I found too early Overall ok but will not repeat or recommend

Nice hotel, terribile food
The hotel is very nice, clean, with comfortable rooms, a good pool area and a decent gym. Its position on a hill doesn't make it difficult at all to reach the beach or the city centre by foot. A bit of exercise is always good on holiday. The negative points are the food and the wifi. Despite advertising wifi in the rooms, the service is non existent on the room. You can only have wifi on the reception area and the signal is awful, weak and keep disconnecting. With regards to the food, the buffet style prevent the dishes of being fresh. Fish and meat are actually very dry, hard and not for sure the best cut. Fruit and vegetable are not fresh (as you could expect from a southern island) but coming out directly from a tin. Bread was good though. If you want to eat healthy, well...forget it, pizza will be your choice most of the time. The queuing system is not the hotel's fault but the guests themselves have no clue how to approach a buffet, how to be fast and efficient. Anyway, overall it has been a good relaxing experience.

One of the best hotels we've stayed in.
We were very impressed with this hotel, having read some of the reviews we were a bit concerned before we left but all four of us ended up being very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay. Excellent choice of food at every meal time and always different choices at lunch and dinner. Wine, beer, sangria, snacks and other drinks on tap throughout the day, we couldn't find fault with anything. The cleaning was faultless and there were always plenty of staff on hand around the resort. The service in the dining hall was excellent with very polite, hard working staff, the entertainment staff were great with some very impressive dancers. All in all we would definitely go back. We heard a few moans from a minority of people but then there's no pleasing some people who will find fault with anything so if you're not one of these then you'll love it too.
