Get a sense of how lively and friendly Tel Aviv is on the golden sands of Frishman Beach. This long stretch of shoreline is immensely popular for obvious reasons, with fine golden sand and wooden gazebos to protect you from the hot Mediterranean sun. In spite of its popularity, however, it’s still possible to find space of your own due to the vast size of the beach.
Head to Frishman if you want safe swimming in the sea. The approach to the water is shallow here, making it ideal for your younger kids who want to splash around securely. A children’s play area and the reassuring presence of lifeguards add to the appeal of the beach for families.
Frishman Beach is particularly popular, especially in summer. Rent sun loungers and umbrellas to ensure a day of peace on the sand. The varied restaurants on the boardwalk that faces the beach also offer space to purchase food and drink during your lazy day by the sea.
The mass of activity on the beach is part of its popularity. Join crowds of locals to watch volleyball matches on the courts here. If you’re feeling especially brave and skilled, join one of the matches.
Hop off the Tel Aviv boardwalk and follow the long stretch of Tel Aviv coastline. Frishman Beach sits between the equally popular Bograshov and Gordon beaches on either side, giving you several options of perfect places to enjoy the city’s sun and sand.
Travel to Frishman Beach on the city’s buses, which stop in numerous destinations near the beach. Walking here is also easy, as the beach is backed by lively City Center. Find Frishman just south of the Tel Aviv Marina, where you can pick up green Tel-O-Fun rental bikes for exploring the area. The beach is open for free to the public at all times, although you’ll only find lifeguards here during daytime hours from spring through fall.
