"Cottage is roomy clean and comfortable. Things generally are a bit dated and could do with some TLC. This includes the outside of the property. From outside the patio area and the front door, which is in very poor condition, do not give a welcoming vibe. There is an odd, very large piece of slate/stone in the living room. This is not far above floor level and is a tripping hazard. Bedrooms are spacious with plenty of drawers and wardrobe space. Bathrooms are good, fittings adequate, showers are electric and not very powerful.Kitchen is excellent with everything you could need. The Cross Keys pub is only a minute away and the owners are very welcoming. All that said we enjoyed our stay immensely."

"A fantastic get away from it all.Waking up every morning to the sounds of the sheep & lambs bleating in the distance with the bees buzzing among the garden flowers with the birdsong and the magnificent views across Swaledale was absolutely idyllic.The cottage is very welcoming with homely decoration. The hosts have provided lots of information about things to do in the Dales as well as lots of information about walking routes. We didn't need to venture far from the peace & quiet of Rubbing House to enjoy further great views and enjoyable walks.Happily, all of the cooing utensils are absolutely spotless, a detail which is sometimes missing from holiday cottages. I hope we left everything as clean as we found it!The house, garden and parking are accessed through very sturdy and easy-to-use gates, so no livestock will invade the garden, although we did see a friendly bovine looking curiously over the wall once or twice!Would not hesitate to book again should the opportunity arise."

"Very good good location in local town local shops pubs allow dogs nothing to want for enclosed garden to rear, big rooms bed linen great, warm as you want it to be parking out front, kitchen ample size be aware no washing machine didn’t bother me!
