"My husband and I stayed at Darlingwood recently, and we absolutely loved it. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast, and we were blown away. "Ok so this property has been upgraded with some nice touches: - Rooms now have manual light switches, notably in the bathrooms (so no motion light flooding the whole bathroom when nature calls in the middle of the night. - The pool area is nice and clean and gets used daily now. - There’s a fence around the back courtyard for security, which now invites more outdoor dining. Also QR menus are on every table and the outdoor lighting has more coverage throughout the courtyard. - The ever-friendly and inclusive staff remains amazing. These folks add REAL value to stays here and are why I keep coming back. - Fresh infused water is available daily in addition to water dispensers in the lobby and fitness center. - The breakfast options are fantastic. Also they have a great rotation of protein and eggs. Then the mini waffle station is easy for pre-teens to use. Finally the kitchen staff is some of the best you’ll find in a hotel. They are always friendly and run a tight ship with clean and dry flatware/tableware ready and plentiful for guests. - The elevators all function and are fast which handles the volume of guests very well. At each press of a button you’ll wait no more than 30 seconds for an open elevator. This is impressive as the third elevator car doubles as the service elevator. Overall the Residence Inn Marriott Downtown / Pearl District is a perfect place to stay when visiting Stumptown and gets As across the board as a very-well run property."

"A real work of art. Fabulously decorated with old and new regional and international art, posters, artistically painted literary quotations. As an old organizational lodge, it has some quirks which we loved. We had a private bath but next time we'll save a few bucks with the shared bath option, using the lusurious provided robes, also perfect for the hot soak pool ofuro (you can cool off in the hallway shower). Then I strolled down the second floor hallway with a mug of brewed coffee from the lobby, reading an extensive quote from either Joyce's Ulysses or "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" never losing my step or spilling coffee. A significantly transcendent experience. Not to scare anyone off, but it was the perfect combination of Hogwarts meets The Shining, if you know shat I mean. Fantastic job by the designers and staff, and owners. Loved it."

"It was by far the best stay I've had in a few years just based on the staff I don't know if it was the manager that checked us in or the owner but we didn't get their until 3 am and the door lock to our room batteries had died we helped fixed it and she was just so polite and appreciative and just her energy alone made me wanna apply for a job their. Thank you 10 plus stars"

"i chose this because it was dog friendly and chose the suite to give my friend and i more room. the bathroom was a very tight fit for a large person. i liked it was a smaller hotel so parking was easy and close to the main entrance and our room, the pool, and breakfast area were all within less than a min walk. i'd stay here again."
