  • Welcome to Madden’s Cottage—a cozy one-bedroom home in Florence, Alabama, perfect for a relaxing getaway, fishing trip, or work stay. Enjoy the comfort and privacy of an entire cottage, with convenient access to downtown Florence, the University of North Alabama, North Alabama Medical Center, the Florence Conference Center, and nearby Pickwick and Wilson Lakes.

    ONE BEDROOM • ROOM FOR UP TO FOUR
    The private bedroom features a comfortable queen bed with fresh linens. The cottage is ideal for two guests, but a queen-size air bed is available upon request for up to two additional guests. Please request the air bed when booking.

    SETTLE IN & FEEL AT HOME
    Relax in the comfortable living room with a Smart TV and free Wi-Fi, or enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch. A desk and chair provide a convenient place to work during your stay.

    The fully equipped kitchen includes a stove, oven, refrigerator, appliances, cookware, dishes, and utensils for preparing meals. A full-size washer and dryer, air conditioning, heating, towels, and linens add comfort and convenience.

    BRING YOUR BOAT
    Off-street boat parking with shore power makes the cottage a convenient home base for exploring the area’s lakes. The garage is reserved for owner storage; please keep its entrance clear.

    DOGS WELCOME
    Dogs are welcome for an additional pet fee. The backyard is only partially fenced, so dogs must remain leashed and supervised outdoors. Please keep dogs off the furniture, clean up after them, and crate them if you leave them alone inside.

    PLEASE NOTE: TRAFFIC NOISE
    Madden’s Cottage is on a busy street corner, so you may experience some traffic noise during your stay, including at night. We provide a sleep sound machine to help you rest comfortably.

    You’ll have private access to the entire cottage. We live locally, respect your privacy, and are available if you need assistance.

    Check-in is at 4 p.m., and check-out is at 10 a.m. Smoking, parties, and events of any type are not allowed.

This was a fantastic stay!... the location was great ( only got lost once). Lower profile vehicle definitely opt for parking on the street ( no issues ). Our Host was super quick to respond to questions or needs. Property was super clean and well furnished. Air conditioning was excellent! Loved the white noise machine for any ambient noise.

We were in town for a tournament and the parking space for our boat and truck was the biggest draw for us. The host was really communicative and definitely on top of ensuring we had everything we needed. It was clean and nice to be able to stay in a house instead of a hotel. The only negative i can really think of was the property is close to a somewhat busy road, but it was ultimately a quiet neighborhood and a nice stay. Really enjoyed it and would consider it again in the future.

We were in town for a week long fishing tournament. Parking was simple. Charging the boat was easy with a plug right there at the corner of the home. Access to McFarland only took about 10 minutes. Overall, great accommodations. If you have multiple guest and need multiple beds, bring a cot or a foam roll. My partner got the bed and I slept on the recliner part of the loveseat.

A cute little cottage, clean and remodeled, with parking enough for my pickup pulling a trailer. The host was thoughtful enough to leave earplugs to ensure a good night's sleep. Overall an acceptable experience.

Cottage stay

The house was nice and clean. It was also very nicely decorated. A couple of things I was surprised by, but not bothered, was no centeal heat/air. There were a couple of window units and a couple of space heaters. Also, the house slopes downward in the kitchen. It was not a bother to us just surprised by that upon entering the kitchen. Also, does not have cable/dish/direct tv BUT does have prime video with commercials so we were able to watch movies. Overall very comfortable and cozy!!

The property was clean and the host was very attentive. We did expect a shower only which we prefer however, it is exceptionally small. A very, very tight space.It is in an older neighborhood and the neighbors were friendly. Overall, a good experience.

Just what we needed...

We helped move our son down to Florence for school and were looking for a place to stay for the week. What we found was this nice home close to the school. It had everything we needed for our stay. Communication with the host was seamless. Always responded to my questions within minutes, sometimes even quicker. House was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this house.

Comfortable and Clean

The house smelled clean when we walked in! The sheets were clean and there were fresh towels. We were in for a baseball tournament. My son and I were comfortable inside the house. It was VERY convenient to have a washer and dryer to get uniforms clean between games. We had most everything we could have needed. Even with the heat index in the trip digits, the house stayed cool. The location was convenient for all things we needed... We were within 5 or 10 mins from grocery stores, ball parks, hotel where the rest of the team was, and restaurants.
