Colombo Flights
Though Colombo is no longer the administrative capital of Sri Lanka, this vibrant city is still the cultural and financial capital of the island nation. Today, Colombo is a cosmopolitan city known for its inviting boulevards, excellent beaches, and year-round warm weather. Visitors enjoy a wide array of eateries, fun markets, and a growing number of galleries in this multiethnic and multicultural city.
You’ll find plenty to do in Colombo. The long stretch of beach along this coastal city is an excellent place to start your trip, but you’ll also want to stop by the National Museum of Colombo and the Gangaramaya Temple. The Colombo Zoological Gardens is an excellent choice for the kids, while the Galle Face Green Promenade is the perfect place to have a picnic or haggle with the local vendors for trinkets. Meanwhile, the best nightlife of Colombo is actually a short trip out of the city to Mount Lavinia, which offers beaches, restaurants, and enough clubs to satisfy even the most demanding night owl.
Best Time to Travel to Colombo
Peak Season:In truth, the weather in Colombo is gorgeous all year-round, so it’s always a good time to visit this wonderful city. The city has an average temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. However, prime beach season kicks off between January and April, so get ready for more crowded tourist spots during this time.
Shoulder Season:If you’d rather beat the crowds, start looking into flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka, between August and September. The weather is still excellent, but you may be able to get slightly better deals on travel and accommodation.
Off Season:The south-west monsoon sweeps through Colombo between May and July, so you’ll need to be ready for rain. Usually the rains come fast and hard and leave quickly. This is still a good time to see the city and your best chance to snag cheap flights to Colombo.
