What to wear on a flight:

• Choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and wear easy-to-remove footwear like sneakers.
• Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.

The secret is to be organised before you reach security. That way, you'll be hopping onto that plane to Brooks before you know it. Follow these helpful tips and get your trip off to a terrific start:

• Be sure to keep your passport and boarding pass at hand. They're the first things you'll be asked to show at airport security.
• The X-ray machine is up next. Empty your pockets and remove anything that is likely to set off the alarm. This includes things like headphones or earphones, as well as heavy jackets or coats. They'll all need to go on the X-ray conveyor belt.
