"We loved staying at Casa Dona Edite! It’s a tastefully decorated, modern guesthouse and the owners, Antonio and Cristina and their son, Eduardo are the perfect hosts. Cristina is an excellent Cook and baker, and we strongly recommend to have your dinner meals there. She also bakes loaves and cakes as part of the breakfast offerings. Well worth the drive up the hill to stay at their place! "

"Room clean but would benefit from a bathroom update.
Commented on noise because election rally went on till late across road from hotel both nights of our stay. Realise we were just unlucky to have this.
Staff friendly and also knowledgeable about Port and where to buy it cheaply.
Would love to come back overall. "

"The room was stunning, very clean, modern. Just amazing!! Breakfast was very good. A nice selection. No words can describe the staff and their kindness. Their kindness and helpfulness made our stay so special. When we left it was like we left our family. I only hope that we are able to return"

"The hotel was very nice and the staff were excellent. It is a smaller hotel in a rural type town and you got that small town care from the staff. They provided us with a triple room so we could have a double bed and helped make our stay very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with fresh fried eggs and a good selection of breads and other items. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a clean comfortable room in a smaller setting. "

"If traveling by car, this is a splendid place to stay in the Duro Valley. Staff and room were very nice. A wonderful breakfast was included, which seems to be a vanishing practice in Europe these days. The hotel offers diner (not included) as well. The town of Tabuaco is quite small so dining options near by are limited. We would stay there again."

"The hotel is rather small (a very good thing for me!), but the room I had was large and the bathroom too. It was modern and very clean, with A/C. It was called Mallus and had a French door to the street which meant I had to have the blind down all the time for privacy, really the only drawback to it all. The breakfast is very good, fresh, and the manager very kind and dedicated. I highly recommend!"

"Our stay here was wonderful! It was idyllic and the property was incredibly charming and romantic. The views could not be beat and the proximity to town was very convenient because we did not have a car. Would highly recommend. "
"Very comfortable stay. The place and the people are all lovely. Tua is a very small village with no shop but an interpretive centre / museum and a small handful of eating places. The only noise is from river craft and the occasional train. The hotel does excellent breakfasts but no other meals. The pool is good too, and a real sun trap. They did a bag of laundry for €10.
The only negative for British guests (tea drinkers) is that no kettle is provided. There is a handy fridge though.

"Anna greeted us upon arrival and not only checked us in, but walked us to our room. The property is wonderful, clean, well attended and in a perfect location. Staff are always available and smiling. Breakfast buffets are numerous, plentiful and delicious. We enjoyed our room with a balcony overlooking the river very much. "
"Our room was so comfortable with an exterior door and sitting area. One of 10 rooms on the property it was a quiet location. Breakfast is delicious overlooking the river and valley. Small menu is available all day (til 5:00) and special dinner is served nightly at 7:30 from a very limited but delicious menu. Make reservations before 5 pm of the day you wish eat. Love the wine tasting and review and all the wines are available for purchase and very reasonably priced. Close to Penhao and many other wineries and activities. I’d highly recommend this Quinta. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice pool, walking areas and covered parking. "
