Remote getaway
Cozy, quiet, relaxing cabin stay. Home was clean and cozy. View of pond/lake was fantastic. We visited the first weekend of April. There area had snow a couple of days before our arrival. I would have spent a great deal of time on the back deck if the weather had been warmer. Looking forward to visiting again.

Wood house off the grid
If you're looking for a place to get away from life and society, this is the place. Easy lake access and no phone service, but WiFi if needed. Great place to unwind and cut ties with work and life. Would definitely come back.

Birthday Getaway
This was a beautiful cabin! My friends and I were doing a one night trip to celebrate a birthday, and this stay was perfect for that. The cabin was adorable, perfect for what we needed. Super clean and very warm. The cabin is down a long, windy road which made it feel very secluded and private. The view of the pond was gorgeous and it was frozen over so we were able to walk on it! We are hoping to stay again in the future when it is warmer. Definitely recommend.

We simply planned too short of a stay! The cabin was nice, and had lots of notes about where things are and how to get around. It was a little tricky finding the cabin (picture is of the back), but we managed! It’s a nice cabin. Ideal for a single family with lots of kids that are old enough to manage stairs safely. There was one bedroom with a queen bed, then the large room with at least 5 smaller beds and an open staircase. It was stocked with several games, books, and movies, had internet, a stove, fridge, etc. it did appear to have blankets/sheets despite the post asking us to bring our own (from Ohio!) the lake is very nice, though we didn’t leave ourselves much time to fish and didn’t make it out on the boats. I’d like to come back when we can stay for an about a week. Well there aren’t many places nearby to eat (perhaps that’s a good thing) and most places are local diners, etc. Some were really good, like Birdseye Diner and the Fair Haven Inn. Some were less good. You should also visit the Taconic Mountains Ramble state park nearby - it is gorgeous.

Beautiful place to stay. Outside is private with stunning nature setting. Wished we could have stayed longer! They provide wifi, but our phones did not get a signal. Just good to note to make sure you know how to navigate to and fro the cabin. I suggest the owners provide a physical checkout checklist. We admittedly missed a few things as I didnt check the listing (as I didnt use the wifi). Great stay! Highly recommend!

Lakeside cabin
This cabin is perfect for a lakeside escape. We stayed here after a road trip around the USA and it was the perfect relaxing way to finish the vacation. Of all the places we have been we were most sad to leave this one. Thanks so much for having us.

Lovely location, comfortable accommodations.
Our stay here was very nice. The scenery was really nice and the house was clean, roomy, and comfortable. We enjoyed time down by the water as well as going for walks along the pond road. We will definitely be coming back to stay another time. Our only disappointment was that there were three different grills, but none of them were maintained or usable. There was no propane for the propane grill. In fact there was wood scraps in the belly of the propane grill. We ended up having to run into town and buy a cheap charcoal grill to use. Otherwise, we were very happy with our stay.

We had a great time
This was our second stay at the Green Door cabin, and it was relaxing and fun for all of us. Cozy is the best word to describe the cabin. It's nestled in the woods with plenty of privacy and the pond is right there. We enjoyed the firepit tucked next to a large rock outcropping. The beds are brand new, and that was a nice upgrade from our last visit. Very clean and very comfortable. There were a few mosquitoes outside, but no bugs indoors. We managed to enjoy everything. Overall, we all had a great time. Thank you!

We had such a good time spending our long weekend at this lovely camp. The porch is huge so we ate most of our meals out there. We also appreciated how close the house was to the water! It made it very easy to go swimming or paddling whenever we wanted!! It was a lovey stay !

Perfect in every way!
Looking for a secluded camp, on the water, with everything you could ever need this is the place to stay. Cant wait to go back and enjoy more time here. Perfect get away. Great spot for a reset that offers privacy and all the creature comforts anyone could want.

It was a really nice place and you couldn’t beat the scenery…only problem is there is only one room so the sleeping arrangements were a bit of a challenge and there were bugs…but it truly was a wonderful experience and so much fun…the lake was incredible! Definitely recommended for just a small group

This review is untrue. We have nearly new electronic pest repellants throughout the cabin. My sister cleans the cabin regularly. There have never been roaches in the cabin. The renter tried to cancel just before arriving and expected a full refund. This renter is not welcome again.

Great if you know what to expect
If you're looking for an out of the way spot to relax and get off the grid, this place is 5 stars. If you are looking for creature comforts and privacy within the house, this place is 3 stars. Hence, I've given it a 4. We enjoyed our stay. It is peaceful on the crystal clear pond, the mattresses are comfortable, and the deck is a great place to play games, eat, or read. I say mattresses, though, because in some instances there is no frame, just the box spring and mattress. The rental description should not read 3 bedrooms. It is one bedroom and an open loft that would be good for close friends/family. However, if you have more than one couple, or anyone else that prefers their own sleeping space, this may not work. We had no problem with cell service (AT&T), but were thankful for the recent addition of WiFi. The hosts were super responsive, giving needed info to make our stay nice, but we may not have been prepared if I had not posed questions for that response. Overall, Green Door is worth the trip provided you know what to expect.

We needed to look up some travel information and car issues and felt a bit confined when it came to needing to get the information. This was our 4th stay. And the house was even more self-sufficient than before, kitchen was almost fully stocked, Wifi was a pleasant surprise. Built six rock towers by the dock. Leaves were changing color. Had a great night sleep. Was not our last stay!

A remote, waterfront, 1 BR cabin with beautiful views
This is a charming cabin right on the water with a pier, dock, boats and a big deck with a picnic table and beautiful views. It makes for a perfect "get-away-from-it-all" retreat for a small family. But the listing should probably be updated with some important specifics and/or there needs to be some more detailed communication in advance for better preparations. There is NO CELL SERVICE (at least for Verizon) and NO WIFI (and no cable TV) and a long-distance access code is required to make any calls outside the local area using the landline. So we were unable to be in contact with our daughter whom we were visiting at Middlebury College (which, by the way, is 80 min RT). Also, the listing references 3 bedrooms (and 3 bunk beds, if that matters), and shows a picture with 3 levels, so while the description only mentions 1 private bedroom and a loft with beds, I guess I thought there was a loft in addition to another room with beds. There is actually 1 private bedroom and a room at the top of the stairs with 1 bunk bed and some other mattresses and no access to the lowest level (but still plenty of space on the main floor so not really needed). There are no curtains on the windows in the sleeping areas so best for early risers. And there are "pass through" vents (to allow the heat to rise from the 1st floor where the heater is) so sound travels easily (but still better than a hotel room!). So in summary, it is a wonderful place for a small family retreat but be prepared (bring your groceries and get the landline no in case people need to reach you in an emergency!).

Comfy and homey cabin on the lake
I enjoyed my stay at Dan's cabin. It was comfy and I felt at home and at ease there. The mattresses upstairs were very comfortable. The deck was nice and sunny on a crisp, chilly autumn day. I would stay again if I could.

Beautiful place. Perfect for gateway. Not crowded. First fishing experience awesome (for kids)
Everything was awesome. Small pond, great for kayaking, for two couples without kids it was more than enough space. There is only one working grill , and it’s not the propane one. It’s Weber, but you need to get charcoal. Only thing that I didn’t like is the garbage thing. We were there for 3 nights (2 couples) taking garbage home? AT&T works there. Verizon not really.

Peaceful hideaway
We had such a great time. This quiet retreat was a gem of a find during Covid and did not disappoint this year. Special treat was the loon that visited the pond two days in a row. Relaxing with my coffee on the porch listening to the mournful call was a perfect start to my day.
